[Feb 2022] Can't connect to Blizzard Services

My previous ticket regarding this was marked resolved and the thread “Fix the US authentication server problem” was locked after Customer Support said it was resolved despite multiple users still having the problem. I’m assuming someone was confused and thought that this was related to recent account issues but this has been happening to a lot of us since October and is still happening.

On certain accounts when Starcraft II is loading it hangs on “Connecting to Blizzard Services”. Sometimes it loads the game eventually and other times it says “Can’t connect to Blizzard Services” and you have to try more times before it eventually gets through. This is an account-specific issue. I have not problem when using an alt account. It is not related to the network or computer as I have the same problem when I try loading SC2 on a friend’s computer at his house. It is specific to Starcraft II and specific to the U.S. region as I have no problem loading other Blizzard games or loading SC2 on another region. Blizzard Support changed my password and confirmed that the same thing happens on one of their systems if they try to load SC2 on my account.

My old ticket was US81746130 but I can’t update that anymore as it’s been archived at the end of last year. I really want to stress that this is unrelated to more recent account issues and outages and that I’m just one of many players who has been experiencing this as far back as October.

After submitting a new ticket, Blizzard Support confirmed that this issue is still occurring for me. They said that they’d resolved one issue that had been causing the same thing to happen but that some accounts had different underlying causes.

Blizzard Support said that they’re currently making “major push to resolve these issues.” I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt considering that last week they were able to fix the SC2 issues were some accounts were being told BattleNet was down while others couldn’t access paid campaigns and had their co-op commanders all capped. For SCR they also resolved the issue with the leaderboard not showing.

I really do hope that my connection issue gets resolves soon since it’s been four months now. And we’ve still got other ongoing problems with Archon mode missing, league placement still bugged, and the 1v1 ladder still with an extra map.

Yeah, this problem still exists and not yet resolved.
This customer service team arbitrarily marked it as resolved.
Never confuse this glitch with the recent account issue,
because it happened since last October.

Hey there,

Just wanted to hop in and say that we are indeed still looking for this and for anyone that is still experiencing this specific issue, to either put in a support ticket or reply here that you are experiencing the issue, which region you are experiencing the issue on. (Americas, Europe, Asia or All)

I do not have an ETA on a resolution but any updates we get will be posted here.

Might be worth mentioning that the problem got a lot worse in the middle of last week. Connecting with my main account has been a lot more rare since Tuesday or so.

I’ve been experiencing this myself. Sometimes it takes 3 restarts, sometimes 10+ but I eventually get in. Been going on a few months, can’t say for sure since I’ve been playing other Blizzard games and less SC2 lately.

Americas

Well I just tried to update sc2 and I got this fun error message…2022-03-12T06:00:00Z That I could not patch up sc2. Something is broken on their end. In the America Region, South Mississippi. I couldnt interact at all with the battle.net app. It kept asking me for permission to ‘updte’ and I said yes, multiple times…waiting on an another update? Where? Does this have something to do with windows 11? I shut off the anti virus too. In the battle net app itself, It was initializng the update then would stop. Im trying to reinstall the battle.net and it starts, asks where do I want to put this app then it stops and says “Opps. SOmething broke. we will tryo to fix it, try again later.”

I’m having the issue too (NA Server)

I am also having this problem on Americas region for SC2.

Me too; this issue has been ongoing for literally months now.

I’m having the same issue. America server

Yeah, this is still happening on America server.

I am having that problem for the US server for the last 2 weeks, but i was still able to login after a couple of trys. As of 4 days ago no matter what I try, to include renewing my ip and flushing dns and uninstalling/reinstalling the game, I can no longer log in as it takes me to the authenticating screen and then just drops off and does nothing.

I haven’t been able to log in to Starcraft 2 for at least a year. I’ve tried every suggestion from the previous thread. This is beyond ridiculous lmao.

Seems like it’s been getting worse over the last week. Logging in takes me so many tries I’ve started watching TV or reading while I spend an hour or more canceling and trying again. If I do get it I just leave SC2 open for the rest of the day.

When will it be fixed?
Blizz, do you really care about the server issues?
The issue has existed for about 6 months.

Potential Fix!
I can’t guaruntee this will work for everyone, but I just used the “scan and repair” option from the battle.net launcher and the game went from unplayable to completely resolving the issue. Worth trying and please respond if that works for you!

I’ll give it a try later today but I don’t believe that this is a local computer issue. I’ve had the same problem using my main account on other computers and Blizzard’s customer service even changed my password and encountered the same issue on their systems.
