ERROR: Game Initialization Failed: I

Whenever I try to run the StarCraft II Editor I get an error message that reads “Game Initialization Failed: I” I’ve tried everything on this page: Game Initialization Failed - Blizzard Support.
nothing has come of it so far, any advice?

Hey Rubby,

There may be an issue with the Battle.net files that is preventing the game from launching. Lets try this:

  • Close the game and the Blizzard app completely. Wait about 1 minute.
  • Press Windows Key + R to open the Run dialogue.
  • Type C:\ProgramData\ into the Open field and press Enter.
  • Delete the Battle.net and Blizzard Entertainment folders.
  • Run the Blizzard App and launch the game to see if the issue persists.

If it’s still happening, try going into your Documents folder and delete the Starcraft II folder there, then launch the game again so it will be recreated.
