Let’s quickly compare legacy of the void each race pros and cons.
Zerg:
PROS:
*!!!MOBILITY!!!
free units (swarm hosts, infested terrans, could also say broodlords but its questionable)
best late game and late game units composition (I thought it’s supposed to be a protoss thing?)
map control (because ofc lings mobility and free vision - overlords aka flying supply depots everywhere, biomass vision and speed boost)
fastest ingame army remax (can remax 200/200 in up to like 30s and with the advantage of zerg army strength overall the remax just usually ends the game for opponent)
CONS:
from me I would say none. zerg has no cons but after reading the community suggestions for zerg cons I could choose one that is partially true:
they are still strong off creep but just a bit weaker
second cons suggestion that I hardly accept:
Protoss:
PROS:
great harass and pressure potential (it supposed to be a terran thing back in hots and wol)
very good late game
zealots frontline
CONS:
expensive units
Terran:
PROS:
Strong turtle (but doesn’t give advantage in very late game)
mobility (bio, helions)
CONS:
Vulnerable units (bio)
Immobility (mech)
bio lacks of health
mech lacks of strong anti air (vikings are not enough except mirror match, raven anti armor missile debuff bug vs splash dmg)
cant really mix bio/mech builds mostly due to separate upgrades issue so you are forced to play mech or bio
tier 3 (battlecruiser) does cost more than any unit in the whole game
splash damage friendly fire (it’s just the whole terran and protoss one ability called psi storm)
So overall Zerg is just leading there (aswell as on the tournaments - I’m just surprised they are second represented race in GrandMaster [Protoss is somehow first] but still Zerg does have the advantage - might be the players skill, zerg players are just lazy). Second leading race is ofcourse Protoss and then we have Terran third wheel. Did the recent patch was helpful for Terran? YES! But it’s not enough. Imagine having a 3 fighters, one has a tank (zerg), one has a pistol (protoss) and one has a sword (terran). If we buff terran by giving them SHIELD will this solve the issue? Not really. The tank will still just vanish him from the world. We need some SERIOUS buff or rework on Terrans. Giving “shield” against “tanks” won’t really do anything! So please let’s get a real Terran buff or rework…
*Zerg Mobility issue - I wanted to show this as much as I could because zerg mobility is just absolutely insane. Supersonic speedlings for both harass and defense, supersonic mutas harass and ofcourse I can’t forget about nydus that gives you options to be anywhere and anytime on the map…
The race is very gas intensive from the get go. Terran and protoss have units that are cheap on gas to make up the basis of their army. Zerg doesn’t Hydras are gas heavy for what they do, ravagers are super expensive. You want to go mutas that requires a heavy gas bank. Brood lords you need lots an lots of gas. Doesn’t mean the other races don’t have gas heavy units, but zerg has a lot to balance out with the larva mechanic.
No, it doesn’t Carriers, and battle cruisers are way more mobile than brood lords. The bulk of terran late game is mobile with hellions/cyclones or marine marauder and protoss is actually pretty mobile in the late game. If you’re on a brood lord infestor type comp you have the slowest army in the game.
No one is talking about late game. The post is pros and cons of each races, and the larva is a con to the zerg
Sorry, you’re misinformed. Zerg is a gas intensive race. That’s an accepted fact. That doesn’t mean that other races don’t have gas heavy units. It just means that zerg has a lot more gas heavy units. It takes a whole lot of gas to play zerg. In addition, as i said, brood lord/infestor is the slowest army comp. Zerg does indeed slow down the later it gets while other races don’t as much. terrran still keeps mobile infantry at all stages, and the new battle mech gives mech much more mobility. Warp prism speed up, you have blink, shade etc. Colossus are actually pretty mobile.
I don’t even know what you’re trying to arge. The guy was asking for cons to zerg and one of them is that late game zerg slows down. and you are just like “But protoss has slow armies too” so? we’re talking about zerg cons.
It always baffles me that nearly no T nor P (and even Z) player realizes how vulnerable Zerg’s production is.
A greater spire takes 143 seconds to build; snipe the building and the Zerg player can’t build BLs for nearly two and a half minutes - for comparison: a Fleet Beacon takes 43 seconds to build.
If you simply manage to snipe buildings a Zerg needs to build his composition, he can give up. (For example: Roach warren is crucial in ZvZ midgame; pool and baneling nest in T(bio)vZ midgame; and so on.) Tear down the hive and it’s game over most of the times.
…and Zerg has the worst base defense of all races.
TERRAN
Advantage
_ BCs are very strong late game units to attack undefended bases when the enemies are too far away and can’t teleport back to defend.
_ Splash damage from many units are very strong against swarmy units (effectively Zergs). Example: Siege Tanks, Thor, Vikings, Liberators
_ Strong at holding their ground can be used to establish foothold to invade Enemies territory

CONS
_ slow expansion.
_ SCV tie with Drone are worse builders than Probe.
PROTOSS
Advantage
_ Immortals, Tempests are highly specialised units without rival
Disadvantage
_ obsolete units (Void Ray & Colossi)
ZERG
Advantage

= Protoss Photon Cannon +65% attack speed, +50 Health, +50 Shield, + 1 armour
_ Mean of gathering intel is inferior to other races. Free intel: Channellings << Hallucination (can be used on air units) <<< Terran Scan. Paid Intel: Overlord, Overseer are slowed and non-cloaked units, Zerglings don’t have high-ground vision.
_ Overlord & Overseer (key units for supply and detection) are easily harassed by Terran & Protoss early tech air units (corsair, viking…)
