Creatures of the void descend upon Augustgrad. They emerge from strange rifts and are unusually durable. Close the rifts to save the Dominion.

This mutation requires division, one must defend from Void Rift reinforcements, while the other deal with the Void Shards, Void Rifts, and KMC Pirate Ships. Recommended commanders:

  • Karax P1/P3
  • Artanis P3
  • Alarak P3
  • Mengsk P1
  • HH P1
  • Zagara P1
  • Fenix P1
  • Raynor P3
  • Abathur P2
  • Stukov P1

Views on Karax P1 vs. P3? I’m thinking the better offensive power of P3 would serve use better, even though P1 towers are tops.

Also, wondering why Tychus was the CO of last week’s mutation, but I’ll post that in that thread…

Karax P3 + Tychus P2 vs. Ravagers, Ultras, Hydras, Infestors — WIN, with both bonuses
Ally helped defending vs. initial wave from vr (void Rifts). I set up defenses at our main and expansions, but also fired SoA shots as needed.

Ally pushed, but also hunted rifts all the same. I lent Orbital Strikes and Solar Lances when ally pushed (although not sure if he really needed it. Lone Wolf is tough as nails! However, he did use medivac quite a few times). Purifier Beam got spammed as soon as it was off cd, and were directed to push into bases… twice on the 2nd set of objectives, twice on the 3rd (the passage leading into it, and just into it), and I believe twice on the 4th and final set (same as 3rd… passage leading into it, and inside the area itself)

Later in the game, I was able to get up a death ball of Sentinels, Energizers, and Immortals. Also made sure to lv up the Solar Forge ASAP, eventually maxing out all upgrades!

EDIT: As for the bonuses, I was there when the first one went down. It was near my tower defense line on ally’s side. For the 2nd one, I didn’t even notice that my ally sent in Crooked Sam to burst it down! :open_mouth:

Another thing is I totally missed his pings for aid. Like tychus squaring off against an attack wave of Ultras and Ravagers. He ended up retreating via medivac.

Cleared it with Stet P2 and a random Nova P3. For most of the game we were 50/50 on pushing and clearing rifts. By endgame I got boxed in because my stetellites kept getting gunned down (was against terran bio comp) and was mostly relegated to rift duty while my Nova ally took care of the final set of rifts. We won it but skipped both bonuses.

Beat it twice now, first time using HH w/ a Zera ally, and second time as Alarak w/…HH ally.

Tried a bunch of times with other commanders, didn’t really come close. Kinda hard to see how to beat this w/o HH. Just Die makes it hard to push, and rifts inevitably pop up way behind enemy lines. HH’s strike platforms just bypass all that.

Alarak’s P3 is incredibly good - the mothership can solo the early part of the mission, and Alarak’s army is chonky enough to not trade badly with Just Die.

#203 Resilient Rifts – 12/18 SOLO CLEAR

Mutators: Just Die, Void Rifts

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BfgkWcVOfjM (Void Rift build orders)

A lot of void rift mutations coming up. This is one of the harder ones because enemy comp matters a lot.

Get map control as soon as possible, especially the area past the second set of shards. Most rifts will spawn near the first set or behind the second set. Clear all the enemies in the second area even if the shards are already gone. Do not let rifts live for too long because the enemies that spawn from the rifts also have two lives.

Rifts that spawn near the first bonus might be covered by the pirate ship in the mini map.

Use the usual shard sniping techniques to beat the mission.

For duos: HH, Tychus, Karax, Dehaka, Mengsk (choose 2)

For solo queue: Tychus

Failures [and why I failed]

Alarak (p3) [Mothership takes too much damage from anti air units]

The rest: Didn’t want to try because this mutation is too difficult

Successes [and key points]

Abathur (p2) https://youtu.be/DTog3CnFJMs [mass static D with spare minerals; you can actually use swarm hosts for all the shards instead of using air units]

Dehaka (p3) https://youtu.be/xlZPG5Evi2w [Impaler, primal wurm, and primal host encampment in the center]

Fenix (p2) https://youtu.be/AprQQ-Y7_10 [Kaldalis snipes shards]

HH (p2) https://youtu.be/M7G9QUbYQWo [only one set of magmines at the ramp for the first wave (otherwise one of the rifts will live)]

Karax (p3) https://youtu.be/g8_vhb1Kmos [fortify the center area and spread observers]

Mengsk (p3) https://youtu.be/WTelj6nXWwc [early game is rough, but after that, it’s ESO time]

Stetmann (p2) https://youtu.be/UMaqh9jO-AQ [going up the ramp to the third area was easier than sniping]

Swann (p2) https://youtu.be/KYZUxH99xKc [killing two rifts with a conc beam feels great]

Tychus (p2) https://youtu.be/vjWKCG6eM0I [the usual Sam sniping strat is a lot worse due to Just Die]

Vorazun (p3) https://youtu.be/X-oPP1HQcuQ [very difficult vs non Terran enemy]

Zagara (p3) https://youtu.be/2_VFGHtexKw [bile launchers in the center and to snipe a few shards]

Zeratul (p0) https://youtu.be/ynvmajLSyrQ [this was actually harder than most of the other runs]

Zeratul (p3) https://youtu.be/UCFsrH3enIY [no mining, cheese]

Questions about any of these runs are welcome. Some runs will be uploaded tomorrow or the day after.

FYI, it’s saying video is unavailable

I’m guessing it’s not unlike what Spirit posted in his Karax P3 + Tychus P2 video (post #2)?

Cough cough…

Probably didn’t get uploaded so need to wait a while. :stuck_out_tongue:

I missed that part, but I also just assumed that having a link means it’s been uploaded.

I think you can still link to a YT video while it is uploading, but it will simply show as unavailable if you try to watch it.

TIL (today I learned)! Yeah, it’s up now! :sunglasses:

Just beat this with Dehaka P3\Tychus P2. I was playing Dehaka and my strategy was as follows:

  1. Pull Devour some enemies in the middle carefully when the dehakas spawn.
  2. If one of the void rifts spawned near I would blitz it with dehaka and zwiehaka. However in my game they spawned a bit farther out so I stayed home and helped stall the enemies till tychus was out.
  3. Once Glevigs den was up I started making roaches and primal igniters and trying to push for void rifts clearing out anything I encounnter on the way. Primal igniters being tanky and cheap seems good early game here.
  4. Cleared out the middle.
  5. Another round of clearing void rifts.
  6. Cleared rocks and setup expansion.
  7. Started transitioning to mass guardians using the dehakas and primal wurms to deal with air units. Mass guardians probably won’t work if the main enemy comp is air. Also gotta watch out for vipers and ravens with this.

From here on it was basically just build guardians and wurms, snipe void rifts, push and clear out enemies carefully. I also got more static defenses up to deal with stay enemies.

P3 felt basically mandatory for this due to early enemy waves.

My mastery points was maxed out in Dehaka speed, greater wurms and devour healing increase.

My teamate was using Cam, Sirius, Nux and Vega. He was doing a very good job at sniping void rifts and clearing enemies. Had his outlaws spread throughout the map a lot. He was pushing the final section with tychus while I supported him with my army.

That mutation is just pure trash.

Its really annoying how hard and fast enemies come early. What I hate about this mutation is that you can easily end up in a cycle of defending till you get overwhelmed at the beginning and sometimes enemies will get tio your mineral line and kill most workers before the game even really began. If there was about a minute extra before the first void rifts then early game wouldn’t be so rough.

.

Yeah… here, get defense ASAP! You don’t have to go crazy but putting up a few cannons (at least as Karax) made a good difference! And my Tychus ally did spend some the first few minutes since he spawned on defense duty (something novel for him  )

I do like it though because its nice to have a mutation that really puts your skills to the test. Many mutations in brutal+1 are pretty easy to do for someone who is comfortable with regular brutal missions. And with enough care the beginning part can be overcome.
