Co-Op Mutation #228: Multitasking Trainer

In this exercise, you will escort an AI around a field with enemy-spawning rifts that you need to close in the fewest actions possible. The more actions you commit, the more your resources will be taxed. Good luck, commanders!

Micro Transactions - Giving commands to your units costs resources based on the unit’s cost.
Void Rifts - Void Rifts periodically appear in random locations and spawn enemy units until destroyed.

Other Notes:

  • Each Void Rift has 500HP, and their spawnings are signalled by a minimap ping on each Rift.
  • Some Void Rifts may spawn in the 4th terminal area within the first 7 minutes.
  • Time stop delays by 20 seconds the spawn time of Void Rifts.
  • Units that spawn from Void Rifts neither not drop biomass for Abathur, nor essence for Dehaka.
  • The cost to micro a unit is its supply count times 1 mineral and 1 gas. For units that cost only minerals, the cost to micro is the supply times 2.
  • Buildings and top bars also cost resources to use.

I hate how those rifts are spawning so far away.

2 rift waves were tolerable but at 3rd rift, they spawn all the way to the end and make the approach impossible.

I can see if the distance is gradually going afar, but going too far right off the bat is just ridiculous.

Oh, couldn’t they make the rift spawn in 3 minutes? 2:20 is just alot.

Is Zagara P3 good for this mutation?

anyone with deep-tunnel that ignores vision would be very good.

Can HnH just spam Strike Fighters and do nothing else to not get screwed as hard on Micotransaction?

Mengsk can bomb away without vision.

Hate microtransactions

Didn’t think i would say it, but i would rather have Microtransactions or even Slim Pickings over Pause Game - The Mutator.

Just clear the map and then patrol units everywhere like every other Void Rift mutation.

Or just play Vorazun (task dark templar to rift and forget about it), Abathur (deep tunnel), or Han and Horner (strike fighters).

Did it as Dehaka/Zweihaka with a HannHorner Prestige 1 Partner.

Wasn’t too hard, only annoying thing is that the void rift algorithm spawns some early rifts across the canyon. They are “near” in terms of straight line distance but very far to get to for ground units.

What happens if you run out of resources to issue a command?

You can always issue commands. You just won’t have resources to build/ upgrade

Yes. Did it in one attempt with Zagara P3.
Deep tunnel lets you kill far away rifts. And most things can be done with Zagara only, so no need to spend money moving other units around.

Nothing, you just keep dropping to 0 while you are moving the unit

Not very difficult actually, but it’s really annoying.

that’s the galaxy brain way to play micro-transactions

Yes, as long as your ally is decent enough to defend and do the rest.
You can click on the minimap with the strikers to attack, if you don’t have vision yet.
You will need the Napalm payload to reduce the fighters required to destroy a void by 1.

Interesting. I’ll try with Stukov P3 or Tychus P2.

Karax P3 could be viable as the topbar doesn’t spend resources.
