Going to attempt this as Zag P3. Provided I have a decent ally it shouldn’t be too bad.
Karax + Dehaka makes this a cakewalk. Worms for rifts, or alternatively a single probe and 25 solarite energy. Wouldn’t recommend without karax P2 though.
Damn, F2 getting punished hard here
Microtransactions are an instant skip. That they’re pairing them with Void Rifts? Yea no way.
Lone Wolf Tychus made this cake. My partner was P1 Karax.
Push with Tychus, station Nux in your expo and Sirius in your ally’s - they can handle rifts that spawn nearby while Tychus is out doing the hard work. Remaining two devils don’t matter, leave them at home - they’re just there so you hit the full 150% damage cap. With that, Tychus’ grenades wipe out whole waves and his armor-piercing bullets shred the towers. You can also grab the bonuses no matter who your partner is. With only Tychus being micro’d, you don’t even notice the resource taxes - I fully upgraded my three main ones with plenty of cash left over.
I also did it as P3 Stukov. That one is a bit harder before the creep has finished spreading, but any rifts that spawn along the path of your shambling horde get devoured with ease.
Beat this one as H&H p1 with a Kerri p2 ally. I used 1 galleon+mag mines to take care of the early rifts while I rushed all 10 platforms. Ally did hero solo with worms.
H&H absolutely clowns here - you can destroy all rifts within 5 seconds of them spawning
Stukov is still a great support commander on a voidrift mutation, specially in late game. My tip (for all that is worth) is to use regular Stukov and get an aggressive ally as Abathur/Tychus/Nova (or Raynor though good Raynor players are harder to come by), and spread bunkers all around the map.
Tried doing it with Alarax P3. Finds out that it’s really expensive moving the mothership/destroyers around. So not that good, especially since destroyers need to be microed.
Stukov ally leaves after he fails to guard the transport.
have you tried Alarak P3 without using the Destroyers? I’d think a ground army with a taxi is pretty decent.
How many Strike Fighter strikes needed to kill the rifts? 3 before Napalm upgrade, 2 after? If Napalm damage doesn’t stack, how long should one wait before striking the same rift again?
It seems like napalm does actually stack. I went back and checked the replay carefully, and if you hit a rift with two precision strikes (like a fraction of a second apart), it apparently does the usual 10dmg/sec but for 20 seconds. In my replay, I noticed that after 2 back-to-back precision strikes, the rift takes DoT from 150 hp until it dies, in exactly 15 sec. I don’t know the extent to which it stacks, but I assume that, hadn’t the rift been destroyed, it would’ve gone for the full 20 sec, as it’s only logical given that it went for 15 sec.
That being said, my strategy was to use 3 back-to-back strikes on each rift to destroy it asap. The fourth rift can then be destroyed by the remaining strike and one set of mag mines, assuming no enemy units will aggro the mines.
This strategy pretty much trivializes the mutator, as you can always destroy all rifts within 5 seconds of them spawning
Useless without ally that gives vision.
Shouldn’t Karax P3 be better? You can just spread observers everywhere and snipe every single void rifts. And you can still build cannons to defend your bases.
1 shot with P3 Zagara+P0 Abathur, got all the bonuses. Zagara’s 20s CD on Deep Tunnel is pretty crazy. Friend would tunnel 1 Brutalisk to each Void Rift, combined with Zagara and sometimes an Infested Drop if needed, Rifts were basically non-existent.
I actually wasn’t expecting to like Zagara P3 originally but it’s definitely one of my favorites. Hope they fix the mastery bug this week.
Did it pretty easy as H&H. Fighter strikes are MVP.
Both work. I just prefer p2 as it allows me to build a large army.
alarak p3 is ez. just let destroyers follow alarak / mothership, amove alarak and mother ship
Done in triplets attempts! With my daughter! Things are always so EZ when I play with her. I was level 10 Abathur with no prestige and she was level 9 Han and Horner prestige 1. Striker Fighter and Deep tunnel onto the rifts for a nice victory.
That assumes you have a Karax ally who does all the defending.
I did it with Level 12 Solarite Karax myself, with a Kerrigan ally. Really tough and tense, since I don’t actually have any army at all, only relying on probes building cannons to protect the ship + laser beams. Thank God for Omega Worm that I can use to replace probes. I one base it all since I feel I can’t really take a second base without dying. My ally did though. She got some hydras but ultimately, the Kerrigan soloes most things. Never formed an army deathball.
difficulty of mutations is really based on what ally you get. with a friend this +5 rated mutation is very doable, can be a bit intense and require focus, but totally doable.
With random allies however, you get once that ignore rifts/units coming from them, allies who do not read mutation description, etc, which makes mutations impossible.
Moral - when playing regular brutals and meet a good player, add them to friends for future mutations party.
