For co-op missions, custom mutations, and co-op mutations after the first completion on a certain difficulty.

Co-Op EXP requirement per level

Required EXP to progress from one level to the next. EXP earned in excess of the requirement to reach one level will count towards the next. The only exception is when a player reaches basic level 15 for each commander.

Total required EXP to get all 17 commanders from level 1 to level 17 on each server is 17,765,000 EXP. Players may get a commander to level 15 through any of the following means:

  • 22 random brutal missions with all bonuses
  • 24 selected brutal missions with all bonuses
  • 26 selected brutal missions with no bonuses (+1st win of the day)
  • 1 brutal mutation w/ bonus + 17 random brutal missions w/ bonus
  • 1 brutal mutation w/ bonus + 19 selected brutal missions w/ bonus
  • 1 brutal mutation w/ bonus + 21 selected brutal missions w/o bonus

The optimal strategy differs for each player depending on how fast they and their ally can reliably complete a map. Players who can complete Void Thrashing consistently in 12 minutes will complete 27 games with no bonuses faster than a player can complete 22 games on random with all bonuses.

Players may get to level 90 mastery through any of the following means:

  • 372 random brutal missions with all bonuses
  • 417 selected brutal missions with all bonuses
  • 460 selected brutal missions with no bonuses
  • 77 brutal mutations with all bonuses (1st win of the day)
  • Other combinations as the player deems fit

Without the co-op stim pack, the minimum number of games a player needs to reach level 15 with all commanders and reach level 90 mastery is 162 games [all 1st win of the day Brutal Mutations]

Not sure if I should do ascension levels, but I’ll stop here for now.

Really wish the stimpack bonus xp applied to mutation bonuses. Learned that a few days ago…

After mastery 70 recently feels like things have slowed down so much, even with stim pack.
Looking at the chart for 80+ really puts things into perspective for the Ascension levels.

Yeah I distinctly remember taking over a month to get from 85 to 90. The high mastery levels are a LONG road. Each Ascension level after that is pretty quick, though.

Ascension levels are 200k if I recall, so 2-10 games

Figured ascension levels would be even longer than mastery ones. I guess it makes sense the last mast levels are long as they provide actual buffs to your commander.

Ascension levels only provide portraits, iirc?

Stim packs give 50% of base/bonus xp (does not work on mutation bounty xp unfortunately).

I mean, it will still be quicker for sure. Much quicker. Just your weekly mutation/brutation will only give the same amount of bonus xp as a regular brutal mission.

A Brutal + random + bonus objective + stim pack works out to be 75,000 xp, or just a tad under that.

Likewise, you get 79K XP (89K with the “first win of the day” bonus) per success with bonus XP if you have both the Stimpack and bonus XP from Warchest

Mutations still do their part,even if not at a 1.5 to 2x rate

Seeing the numbers this looks painful. Glad I have all my commanders to 15 and i’m lvl 125.

Requiring 400K to 1 million XP to get through the last echelons of Mastery do take awhile, but at least there’s an end in sight.

I guess I’m “spoiled”… I quit Plants Vs. Zombies 2: It’s About Time around that time. It’s a mobile game that’s very much so “freemium”/free-to-play, so the MTX and loot boxes are FAAR worse there. I calculation I did was it’d take me 1 to 4 years of grinding to max out all my plant levels (or close enough). And that was BEFORE they introduced Mastery abilities to them later on!

Ya, I’m on 83 now and it’s slowed down so much. Cant imagine doing this without stimpack bonus, which I’ve only 11 days left of. Should be doable to get to 90 by then I hope.

Also, on the chart for lvl 76 I think it should be 365,000 - not 265k

Correct. You also get decals and sprays to boot. IIRC, every 50 levels in Ascension is some sort of milestone for achievements and those non-gameplay rewards
