Hey, MastaDrewDog! This sounds like you might be receiving the BLZBNTAGT00000BB8 error. This is a generic error, which is usually caused by file corruption, permissions, or connection related issues.
If you have other Blizzard games, do you have any issues updating or installing these games? If it only happens to StarCraft II then this is likely just a file corruption or permission issue, which the following steps can help with:
- It may help to try deleting the IDX files, and in the same data folder, delete the Indices folder. Try updating the game and launching the game, if you continue to experience issues, run the repair scan.
- Reinstall the game
- Try a new admin account to reset the windows features and registries.
If this seems to happen with all of our games, these steps will be better to run through since it suggests some sort of security, network, or connection level issues.
- Log out of the Blizzard Application, then switch regions, and try to update on the other region. This uses a different connection route to update if there are any routing or DNS problems.
- Disable any security applications temporarily.
- Try restarting the home network.
- Try an alternative connection or VPN to test.
