Hi, I’m on Mac OS latest version and I SC2 doesn’t launch after the update, it just hangs with the button showing “Launching” and it goes back to “Play” without launching anything. Please advise. This is a new issue that started happening just now after the latest update.
Happening here too - I played a few matches this morning now I can’t launch the game.
Same here, same condition as GeneralGnzo
this is happening for me as well, on a mac too
Same problem here. Fix asap. If anyone finds a solution let me know. Is it worth to reinstall? Something is broken. Critical issue.
Same with me and also on Mac
It just gives me an error when I launch the game on NA, but it works perfectly fine on EU
Another update came, it didn’t fix the issue. Still doesn’t work for Macs. v5.0.14.93333.
NA or EU it doesn’t work. Nothing pops up, nothing starts.
So this is the problem I have figured out so far on macOS:
If you try to switch the server using that in-game icon, you are going to get a warning about some client patch issues. Then even if you quit the game and switch the server in the client as it asks, the game will still force you to reinstall the patch again for the new server. After that, your game will just not open at all regardless of which server you play or even using auto-repair.
The only solution is to not switch the server in game right now, use the Bnet client to do so. Reinstall the game if you fall into problem I described previously. I hope this can be addressed asap.
5.0.14.94137 is live in NA
v5.0.14.93333 is live in EU.
Currently versions differ. I played in NA, switched to EU (in BNET), game showed an old patch (93333) as an update (which is weird, but ok). After that nothing worked.
Also, I used Bnet switch, not ingame switch. So ANY switch is bad, I’ll try to reinstall (this will take forever, dang it)
Edit: reinstall helped
I had the same problem. I used the scan and repair feature next to the play button and it worked after that.
Same situation here. I’m on a mac too. After the patch it went down. I tried the scan and repair option, but it didn’t solve the issue
Uninstall the game and then installing back solved the problem!
as it seems to be mac specific, i suggest posting it over in the mac technical support. it changed enough for me to have to let it through the firewall again, after update.
Confirmed. Quit Battle.net… Go to your Applications folder and drag the StarCraft II folder to the trash… Re-launch Battle.net and re-download StarCraft II. Everything works again. On a side note… removing the Application Support folders from the Library does nothing but erase your campaign progress and doesn’t solve the issue. Ask me how I know. LOL
same issue. followed your instruction and got it to work again. thanks
Same issue, thanks for the help here. Sorry to hear about your campaign progress @SnowCrtash - able to restore it? ![]()
Can confirm the issue was resolved by uninstalling and reinstalling.
