Also, i cannot progress beyond the first mission of every campaign. After completion it takes me back to the first mission.

Anything on this yet? I’m on MacBook 2015, but same deal, can’t save anything and can’t progress past the first mission of any campaign

Ive tried fresh reinstall and making sure read/write permissions were set for whole SC2 folder

I reached out to their support team about this issue and received this response:

Tech Specialist Rachiomyst here to help. Hope you’re doing well today. We’ve received qutie a few reports in regards to this issue and it is actively being investigated. For now we don’t have a workaround for it and looks like we’ll have to wait for a patch to get this issue resolved. Apologies for the inconvenience.

I hope that information helps out. Have a good rest of your day!

Now that they’ve stopped SC2 development and maintenance it’s very unlikely we’ll get a fix on mac. It’s unlikely the game will ever be playable on mac again :frowning:. Hoping that we can get BootCamp working on apple silicon eventually.

Would be great to keep this thread going even if it’s just with some +1s.

Such an awesome game to be ruined by what is likely a permissions bug. There aren’t nearly as many of us that play on mac, but with apple silicon that number should increase.

The game is not playable on mac right now. Can’t progress in campaign, can’t configure hotkey settings for online, no ability to save any data.

Hello there Blizzard fam hope you’re having a wonderful holiday season. Still here on a mac and would love to play some SC2. Let us know if we can ever expect a fix or update. Thank you!

Hey Dude,

I hav esolution for you.

  1. Open finder, use go to folder option in menu (or Shift+command+G)
  2. type:
    ~/Library/Application Support/Blizzard/
    It will open folder contents
  3. look for “StarCraft II” folder
  4. change that folder permissions to Read and Write
right click, GetInfo, Sharing and Permissions, unlock changes, change to RW and use small circle with dots to apply that permissions to all enclosed items.

After that no mo issues with permission, SC2 will be able to write files in mentioned folder (where it saves game saves)

hey Plasmid, I currently have the same problem. I have been in contact with support for the past few days. We will see if they can fix it. They are supposed to call me for a phone tech session. I will keep you updated as to progress

MariusMark1 Has the solution, I tried it and it also worked for me.

I think that I am having the same problem - can’t save hotkeys, can’t make new profiles, replays do not save, graphics settings will not save, intro plays at startup every time. Reinstalled the game a few times; nothing.

I tried MariusMark1’s solution, but the Blizzard folder does not exist in application support. I tried to manually make one, but nothing changed.

I am having the same issue. I cannot save games, it says save failed when I try to, and MariusMark1’s solution is not working for because the Blizzard folder does not exist for me either. Same problem as Macron
