Hi there,
When I connect to battle net with my wifi connection, I could eventually get ingame but it would be very laggy and after a while I would get disconected.
My connection is fine otherwise.
When I want to play, I have to use ethernet connection, and use wired connection and it’s fine.
Any idea where the issue could come from ?
Hey, Eparcyl! Only wired ethernet connections are officially supported for Blizzard games, our Connection Types article goes through the different connection types and what’s supported.
Though, wireless is convenient and especially if you’re on a laptop or smaller device, it gives better freedom to move around or go to LAN events. There’s a few suggestions that can help since the cause of the wireless connection issues could be needing the WiFi network drivers to be updated, or it could due to distance and signal strength, possibly hardware issues with the adapter.
-
Update the Network Adapter Drivers - This can vary depending on the device model and motherboard of the system.
- Try moving closer to the router/modem and see if the connection is any better. Wireless connections can be impacted by walls, microwaves, and so on.
- Try another network adapter if possible like a USB adapter just to test. If this works, there may be something wrong with the adapter itself.
