I keep getting this error when I try to install the Retribution expansion.
I have tried from D: disk and copied it to my laptop HD also. I tried in download directory of StarCraft as well. Error message:
Can’t find StarCraft! Make sure that you have StarCraft vers
what is the retribution expansion, also are you talking about sc1 or sc2
If your talking about the sc1 expansion, you might actually want to try posting this over in Sc1 forums, this is starcraft 2 forums after all. Second that might only work with the original starcraft and brood war disc versions. Sc1 here is now Sc1 remastered. Not sure if the blizz site still lets you download and play the original, you have to check in on that, i personally couldnt tell you myself as i still actually have my original SC1 and BW discs.
It is the SC1 expansion. I am replaying the old one. I like the game play better. It is less forced.
Oh I thought this was just a StarCraft site not SC2. Where is SC1 site located? I do have the original SC1 not the remastered one.
There were 3 expansions maybe 4. 1. Brood war 2. Retribution 3. Insurrection 4. Ghost ?? I did just buy the origianal but it came with the first expansion Broodwar. Maybe this one is different becasue it includes these together. The download for the original was free. This stinks because I accidently ordered the origianal and just sent the disk back yesterday!!!
ghost was an sc2 expansion, and retribution and insurrection were actually not made by blizzard, as for the sc1 forums, look at the top of your page in the bar that now scrolls through the screen youll see the starcraft drop down menu, select that and click on sc1. Also thank you for emparting me with a bit of knowledge, never knew about these two expansions. Good little read , anyways. With what they are youll probably need to be playing from the original sc1 disc files from back in the day, not the one you download from the bliz site. Might help, might not. Also make sure its actually finding the correct files in your computer, drive folder ect. Might be just that simply as you have the incorrect file destination linked to it. Anyways kudos and good luck. with all that. If you get if up and running update the post and let us all know what fixed it and all incase some one else finds this issue late down the road.
Even if it say Remastered, since the site is about both and allow to download the non-Remastered version, it should be the right forum.
