Battle.net services down?

You can do it through command prompt by copying and pasting the commands below:

netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name=“Agent.exe Inbound” dir=in action=allow program=“C:\ProgramData\Battle.net\Agent\Agent.exe” enable=yes

netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name=“Battle.net.exe Inbound” dir=in action=allow program=“C:\Program Files (x86)\Battle.net\Battle.net.exe” enable=yes

netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name=“BlizzardBrowser.exe Inbound” dir=in action=allow program=“C:\Program Files (x86)\StarCraft II\Support\BlizzardBrowser\BlizzardBrowser.exe” enable=yes

netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name=“SC2_x64.exe Inbound” dir=in action=allow program=“C:\Program Files (x86)\StarCraft II\Versions\Base93333\SC2_x64.exe” enable=yes

Knowing Blizzard, and considering SC2 isn’t a money maker, we’ll be lucky if they fix it at all.

sc2 may not be a money grab but plenty of us outright own all 4 physical copys of sc2 and said expansions and they have stated they can do this with digital copys so now there outright stealing our access from us this looks so bad on microsoft so much so that i will never buy another game they promote and may even change to linex this is just sad right after they get the rights they shut down access to na for most everyone i can log into eu no issue not my internet not my firewalls not my pc this is Microsoft not us you cant honestly think its the players responsibility to make a game they paid a company for playable hell look at cyberpunk how did that go? they had to pay back millions because they sold a broken game. now Microsoft takes over battle net and we loose services, sounds like they took the na server for consoles or just said meh fu it not our problem, they own 85% of rts games and now there shutting down??? WHAT??? I WANT MY GAME OR I WANT MY MONEY I BOUGHT EVERY COPY AS THEY LAUNCHED IN STORES NOT DIGITALS

Brute force worked for me. Thank you for the suggestion. After all the firewall crap, I did this as a last resort, and I got in. Just keep putting in your password and maybe hit cancel randomly on the authentication, and it worked.

Any solution as of yet?

The NA server has been up this entire time. the problem is on the user side of things, not bliz side.

yes lots so far, theres a brute force method, where you just keep trying to log in and it will eventually work. some one said something about switching to eu but canceling in the middle of it and switching back to na, and then theres the firewal permisssions that need to be enabled. most likely this is all due to an update on the users end as ive seen people stateing nvidia updated something and its messing with stuff, as well as windows updating and messing with stuff.

Then why are they still coming out with patches?

the patches are being done through the map editor by what is deamed " the balance council" who are, get this, and your gonna laugh cause most people think this is funny, PROS. yeah the pros are doing the balanceing now for sc2 cause blizzard dont care about the game anymore. conflict of interest you say… yeah to say the least. they have been balancing it for about the past year or two now and its been a straight up shootshow.

What Winter said above.

Both the balance patches for Versus and the bug fixes for Coop have been made by the community.

Me and my wife have both not been able to log onto starcraft2 since Dec 31, we just get a “down for maintenance” error.

I can’t believe it worked but it did. After trying every fix here I was frustrated enough to just start brute forcing and canceling the Authentication and by the 4th time I was in. Thank you SO MUCH

This is crazy but I fixed it by doing the opposite of what people suggested. It seems like some people went to ‘allow app through a firewall’ and found that C:\program files (x86)\starcraft ii\versions\base93333\sc2_x64.exe was unchecked. Checking that fixed it.

For me, it was already checked. I had to go down the list clicking on details for every sc2 permission until I found this one… I unchecked the box… removing firewall privledges… and boom it was fixed. What in the actual heck.

+1 for brute forcing your way in. Just made a macro that kept trying it and got in after about 10 minutes, then had no problem after that on next login attempts. Firewall, vpn, reinstall: none of that did anything. Brute force made it happen. Good luck, y’all

Well this sucks. 2 of my friends and I just installed the game, and none of us can get logged in. It just says down for maintenance.
3 people. 3 locations. 3 different PC’s. I’d say it’s a Blizzard problem!

for petes sake read and try the fixes people, you have time to post your having problems in the forum post that complains about the problems but none of you ever bother to read to see if people have suggested any fixs untill some one goes out of there way to reply to you to do so. really 4 days straight of posting the fixs every other hour and its starting to get old. why cant no one take five minutes to read though a thread and try the fixs that have helped people. all yall wanna do is complain and think blizzard is gonna jump cause you posted to the forums WHICH ARE PLAYER TO PLAYER NOT TO PLAYER TO BLIZZARD and expect them to magically fix your stuff. the common sense logic lately is rediculous

I tried all of the suggestions in this thread. None of them worked. I brute force tried logging in for at least 15 minutes.

What ended up working for me was this sequence of events:

  1. Try installing the PTR build
  2. While that’s installing, I tried SC1 remastered (which paused the PTR install)
    • The logic here was that maybe I could prove that it wasn’t an account issue if I could log into another Blizzard game.
  3. Played a custom game of SC1
  4. Once that finished, try SC2 again (PTR is still not installed at this point)
  5. It worked on the first try.
  6. Cancelled the PTR install (5% done by this point)

I’m sure the PTR had NOTHING to do with my successful login. I only share that as part of my steps I did when it finally worked.

Ok first of all I am raging, it is ridiculous how people claim to be an issue on the user end when clearly if they can enter any other server than US then something should be amiss on the validation from Battle Net.

Now, for those claiming “it is permissions” to people who already have disabled the firewall for sure it isn’t an issue at all.

At the end I went into Brute Force inside game trying and from time to time canceling the validation, about 10 attempts and it finally worked.

There should be some sort of validation that only US servers trigger and it fails for some reason, it could be something previously cached, some dns as well, so try in cmd or pwshl

ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
ipconfig /flushdns

After that try again and rely on the brute force method IMHO.
If you are not 100% sure about permissions on Firewall go ahead and disable it for some moments until you can login so you will be 100% sure it is not permission block.

atleast you read all the fixs, gg to you good sir, thank you for using your head, and not sitting here complaining before trying said fixes

this helped me too, go into firewall, sc2 base9333, was checked, i just uncheck and it work for me. thx
