Battle.net app games crash on authentication

Hello I’m having an issue with SC2 crashing at authentication for the US server. 053E42C7-75B4-4ECA-AA61-6674FE2C1D2D. I’ve tried a clean install of sc2 and battle.net, deleted the battle net cache, scanned and repaired the game and nothing works. I also tried to play the original SC and it crashed in the same way. Edit: Diablo 3 works however.

Hey TurboSwag,

I looked up the error code and it shows that this problem is caused by a conflict with OneDrive.

Starcraft 2 and Starcraft Remastered will crash on launch if you have OneDrive syncing your Documents folder. To fix this problem please disable the Documents folder sync in OneDrive Settings. This information should help:

  • Note you must unsync Documents before uninstalling OneDrive. Uninstalling the program by itself will not work.

Best of luck!

So it’s been some time and I’ve unsynced onedrive and moved various files around, and done new installs of both the game and the launcher and it still crashes on authentication.

If the data was corrupted, disabling one drive for syncing the document folders may not be enough, you may also need to clear the SC2 folder under documents after disabling one drive to clear the bad variables data. Then I recommend changing your battle.net password and relogging into the app. From there relaunch and it should rebuild the variables information and launch properly.

If that does not work then I recommend submitting a ticket using the support button above and then clicking contact support. They will likely need system files (The ticket will have links to instructions on how to gather those) to investigate this further for you.
