Anyone had the infamous "unexpected fatal error" recently?

Last time I played SC2 was 3 weeks ago and it was working perfectly fine, but this week I get the “unexpected fatal error occured” message whenever I try to launch it. The error code is all 0s. Blizzard support gave me a generic response with links to the basic troubleshooting steps.

I have made 0 changes to my PC when it started happening. After that I’ve tried every possible solution I could find on the internet except for reinstalling Windows completely. But nothing worked for me and the issue persisted.

It’s a long shot but maybe someone here had the same issue recently and knows something that I don’t?

Here’s a list of what didn’t work for me:

  • Starting the game as admin
  • Starting the game in compatibility mode (Windows 7/Windows 8)
  • Disabling the full screen optimizations
  • Starting the game with extra parameters
  • Resetting the ingame settings
  • Running the 32-bit Client instead
  • Switching the region
  • Changing the ingame language
  • Trying a different ISP
  • Repairing the game
  • Reinstalling the game and the launcher completely
  • Installing the game to a different partition
  • Removing every trace of Starcraft/Blizzard/Battle.net on my PC (including the folder in documents)
  • Running every executable from the game folder
  • Updating Windows
  • Updating NVIDIA drivers
  • Uninstalling OneDrive (it was never there to begin with)
  • Disabling Windows firewall
  • Booting Windows with every 3rd party application turned off in msconfig

StarCraft 1 and Heroes of the Storm work fine. I’m on Windows 10.

I tried the OneDrive solution, installed it again, unsynced and unchecked everything, unlinked my account, but to no avail.

Here are my error logs if that helps - error log - Pastebin.com
Any help would be appreciated.

I solved the issue by doing a fresh Windows install.
I assume it could have been solved by removing a certain file, but I did delete every folder or file called “Battle.net” “Blizzard” or “Starcraft” and it didn’t help, so I don’t know what else I could have done.
