An Unexpected Fatal Error Occured : 647BD403-D7A4-42D0-8A01-

Hi guys,

got this on Starcraft 2 after starting a custom match every time:

“An Unexpected Fatal Error Occured : 647BD403-D7A4-42D0-8A01-D901BB143F23”

Disabled OneDrive Sync and killed the process, killed almost everything running in the background, repaired StarCraft.

Config is an Alienware Aurora 16 which is pretty solid, and I am running way more resource consuming games in ultra without any problem.

Any help or experience would be appreciated,

Thanks, fellow gamers

Greetings!

I also am recently subjected to crashing issues as of the most recent patch (92440)…

I have been looking for a resolution to this on various forums but to no avail.

I just was recently chilling in the SC2 coop chat asking around and the game crashed on me there too! Got the error code EDDBD937-6567-45F8-A8CA-D1ED5054E057.

Typically, the game would crash on me on the 2-5 minute mark in coop games.

It has put a hamper on the craving to play the game for the past few weeks.

I have tried moving Starcraft 2 to different harddrives to test if it was a hardddrive issue but no matter where I put it, the crash occurs.

Checking the logs, the crash is always due to the following (type):

Logging initialized.
[ERROR]-[BNL_Scene]: [20240723T19:10:25] {4574} ERR: failed to fetch process block size from shmem: SHMEM_NOT_FOUND
[ERROR]-[BNL_Scene]: [20240723T19:10:25] {4574} ERR: failed to read target process block for pid: ‘15616’
[ERROR]-[BNL_Scene]: [20240723T19:10:25] {4574} ERR: Failed to write message to shared memory.
[INFO]-[BNL_Scene]: [20240723T19:24:16] {4574} INF: client process has terminated.

Any help would be appreciated.

I just played two rounds on my old computer without a problem with my friend.

Currently, the only main difference is in some specs…

1060 6gb vs 4070 super Graphics
Both had logged that SHMEM_NOT_FOUND error, but on my old computer still ran fine (seemed to of happen during a mission on our first round)
SSD vs NVMe 4.0
Older Nvidea driver vs current
Different of generation of CPU (I think 8 vs 14 gen)

I am having a similar experience as you. Built a new rig a few months back and the game constantly crashes on it. Works fine on a laptop with a 1650. For what it is worth I tried rolling back the driver on my pc to the one on my laptop but that didn’t help.

So its suffer on a wifi connection at 30fps or don’t play at all for me :expressionless:

For a point in clarification, thinking on the difference between computers, the Log file for the SHMEM error may, in the end, not matter.

I wish Blizz would confirm what these error codes could entail.

I am having the same issue, Also running Alienware Aurora in it crashes about 2-10 minutes into every Mission. I think it might have started after an Alienware update.

Interestingly I noticed that warcraft 3 reforged also crashes in the same fashion.

Digging into the Eventlog Viewer on Windows, I reviewed the past few ERRORs and got results like this:

Faulting application name: Battle.net.exe, version: 2.34.0.14907, time stamp: 0x6671fc18

I’m going to be checking the sizes of this file between my two computers… EDIT: Same size, 161,386kb…

One additional difference is I’m using DDR4 on my old computer and DDR5 on my new one…
