Why, after 2+ years, are players still forced to hit TAB for vital info?

Watch any pro steamer/OWL player and give me $1 for every time they have to hit TAB during a match for vital info that should already be on the screen

The same info that we get during PvE events should be part of the default HUD options. Information that lets you know who on your team is alive, ult status, current team comps of both teams, who is dead on the enemy team, etc.

Overwatch is not a game that can use a minimap, however this is info that we all need 100% of the time.

Just put this info in the game already.

This is along the same lines as letting your see your team through walls…

  2. Trying to see/read tiny little letters and pictures and numbers taking up the entire top edge of the screen while also trying to play seems… Messy.

  3. I can’t believe for a moment that trying to read said bar of bitty info points could possibly be faster than tab flashing.

  4. There is already plenty of stuff on the hud. I for one would rather not add more stuff I have to distinguish from partical effects and eye searing colors.

  5. Who is alive and dead, when they died, how they died, and who killed them for both teams is already part of the hud.

I guess having an option that can be turned on and off like the killfeed can wouldn’t hurt anything. I sure wouldn’t use it, but obviously you would, and if one player will, I’m sure more probably would too. Sooo, whatever I guess?

Would be way to much clutter on the screen. It would be like having a cat in front of your screen.

Well… I dont see the problem in adding something that you can turn on or off the same way people can turn the killfeed on/off

Fix the already existing hud, there is no reason to add a new one.

They should just add the UI they gave us in PVE modes.

The info on the tab screen is vital, as is the kill feed. Turning the ability to see ult or team comp info off would be a major disadvantage. Putting it on a easy to flash menu was the best way to keep it available.

My assumption would be, if Blizz were to add the viewers hud from OWL as a toggle-able option, we would still have the tab screen. I don’t see any reason why that would be removed jist because a new UI element was added.

My final vote, like I said on up at the top, is that something like the viewers hud from OWL would be to much extra stuff on the screen to be anything other than distracting.

Please. Having this info in screen would be SO MUCH BETTER than obscuring your vision to press TAB. In PvE modes, the team UI is so clean and unobstructive. It’s very informative, and very handy to know ult charge and ally health at a glance, with no tab button needed.

I’m baffled anyone could think having vital information on a small corner of the top-left screen could be a bad thing!

Aw. I forgot this was a poor indy company. Their servers have been consistently crashing for for the past month with those DDoS attacks.

Man… there is a Sombra bug on live right now that when you start to Hack, you get a MASSIVE FPS drop until the Hack is over…too bad they are such a small company

Regardless, if people dont want the HUD then make it turned off by default.

I am not saying they should replace the TAB button to be clear. I am just saying for people that dont want to keep hitting TAB, give us the option to have that info on the regular HUD

With over 500 hours playtime I’ve never had lag from pressing tab.

I say if it’s an option to have the PvE like UI or the default UI would be nice.Keep the tab flash though. Maybe it can be modified even you have the PvE like UI option picked, but don’t get rid of it completely.

Options are always nice.

TAB should stay of course, but I would like the option to turn that HUD option on like in PvE modes

Ah yes, they should just smash in the entire 12 portraits on the middle of my screen.
Ignore the fact that pressing tab to get info on scores, target players and what not has been an essential part of online pc gaming for like 25 years, change the game in a way it’s not feasible for me because I can’t press tab.
