When the Forces of Evil Rise, Season 11: Super Mega Ultrawatch is Here!

They never said this.
What they are removing is the multi player pve version of the hero mastery, called the “gauntlet”

The single player versions are staying.

Well, ok, 10/10. To be honest.

BUT cheaterwatch2 problem persists.

Wait. Am I reading this right?
The charity event is a “reward” for the 100 mill players milestone?
Are you even serious right now?

They removed hero mastery gauntlet. It was the tower defense mode. That’s why i couldn’t fathom why people were actually mad at it getting removed; no one played it lol

celebrate 100 million heroes with the return of Pink Mercy

What marketing peon wrote this? Pink Mercy should be linked with the supporting the cause of combating breast cancer, not celebrating player counts… or do they not understand what that pink ribbon represents?

And the fact this is in July, and not Breast Cancer Awareness Month of October. I greatly appreciate they are raising more funds for the BCRF, but this is blatant manipulation of people, and not a genuine support of the charity.

Coming in our mid-season update, we’ll be introducing a new type of Mythic cosmetic, the Mythic Weapon Skins. Like our Heroic Weapon Skins, you’ll be able to equip a Mythic Weapon Skin with any Hero Skin (for the matching hero) and will come with exclusive sound and visual effects. Another way to spend your Mythic prisms, you can unlock the base skin at 50 Mythic Prisms, and then unlock additional levels at 10 Mythic Prisms including a Weapon Flourish emote, elimination visual effects, and reactive effects.

So you took a page out of Valorants book and made mythic WEAPON skins that require more money to unlock the actual visual effects, the same price as a regular mythic skin.

This company is so cooked lmao

Venture is going to spend another whole season without a skin, “oh but there’s the ice cream skin”, no, we want a REAL skin for they

There are a lot of cosmetics but I can’t see new playable content (just a map) or improvements in the game like map voting, clans, tournaments, a map editor for the workshop, hero bans, more PvE missions, assault maps upgraded and back to the main game, hero talents in the PvP, combine achievements and challenges, more map destruction or environmental effects, group finder, a ray tracing option, weapon inspection, etc.

Skins are not what retain players in this game.

An upgraded workshop can retain players when you can’t release new official content.

A real PvE mode can make happy the lore fans.

Bringing back old content and improving it can bring back players who left Overwatch.

Adding clans and tournaments can increase the involvement of the players in the game.

Honestly, I’ve come to the acceptance that PvE is dead and buried. Most likely, those job postings for PvE are for some other IP. We rarely get cinematics or map stories nowadays unless it’s in books.

As for player-made content—workshop, guilds, old content—I doubt they’re willing to do that; Team 4 rarely walk back on older decisions.

There are many people with passion and great ideas in the community. Wasting the potential of creators would be a serious mistake. Just look at how well it worked with Minecraft, Team Fortress 2, Fortnite, Super Mario Maker, Fall Guys, etc.

So I’m usually all for the fun and thematic chances and all of that. But I do feel like this is more of a miss than a hit. It’s such a niche background. Yeah, 90s kids and all of them will find some enjoyment in that (and I say that as a 90s kid) but it feels like such a random stab at hoping people will find novelty in something rather than a theme which is more of a bet toward people enjoying it.

I dunno. Not a huge fan.

While a logical decision, this company isn’t really known for that.

I’m left with the impression that ever since this company lost that legal battle with DOTA, they’ve been against implementing detailed player-made content ever since.

That reminds me. The old trailers for OW2 had weapon emotes. Were those done on default skins?

I guess I need to read the blog in it’s entirety.
I only skinned and completely missed talk of passive, though I’m guessing it’s just for the seasonal mode.

This looks really really lame.

NVM, it’s in the trailer (quickplay hacked), not the blog post.

You forgot Mauga. Mauga is one of the girlies confirmed.
