Is it the amount of toxicity, the devs not listening to fans/suggestions or is it about what happened with blizzard is it the lack of content? The repetitive events?
Tell me your thoughts. Is it too late for overwatch?
Reason I’m asking is because I rarely see any good things about overwatch.
Stagnation.
the community not trying to actually play overwatch…it was the easiest #1 ever when i made a list last week Top 20 OW1/2 Game Needs - 20k post Edition
ie - not being team players, forcing heroes, not switching, demanding 2 tanks/supports but not taking the initiative themselves, leaving, toxicity, smurfing…etc etc…
you can add all the content in the world…but until those things change the game wont actually improve
Aside from a lack of new content, I think it has to do with the age of the game.
The new Halo Infinite game is a good example of this: Many of the early reviews are talking about how much fun they’re having and how it’s such a refreshing take on the FPS genre that players haven’t seen in a long time.
Give it six months: You’ll start reading/seeing a lot of the same complaints OW and other online games regularly deal with “players are toxic! Developers don’t listen to suggestions! Bugs that have been in the game forever are being ignored!”
Blizzard is killing overwatch
All of that and more.
This. Not sure what game they want Overwatch to be or what game they’d like to be playing, but it’s definitely not Overwatch itself.
Lack of new content and little communication from the devs
I want it to be Overwatch 2016.
Blizzard is killing Overwatch right now
Last season was my first full season. I was 99-140-2. For some reason, only about half of the matches were the kind of matches where the winning team depends on which team plays better. The other half were the kind of matches where there is literally a 0% chance of Team A beating Team B, because the skill level of Team B is 50x that of Team A… like watching 6 Olympic Champions vs. 6 Toddlers playing any given sport. This season, so far, same thing. 6-13-1 so far. Now, the good matches are fun, win or lose, they are fun. But they are harder to come by.
To top it off, so far in my 20 comp matches this season, I’ve had a player on my team quit after it’s too late 6 times, and it’s happened to the opposing team 3 times.
So for someone like me, the concept of ranking up, or gaining SR… it’s just not possible, or it certainly doesn’t seem so. I love OW. I play it every day. I study it, I practice it, I’ve gotten VOD reviews from GM’s, I’ve watched countless hours of streamers, watched countless hours of video courses, and I’ve gotten a lot better in the 6-7 months I’ve been playing. But the overall “player experience” for me as a Bronze player is god awful. The matching system is, at my Elo, the worst matching system I’ve ever experienced. One team is totally stacked in about 50-55% of my comp matches. I say that whether I’m on the winning stacked team or the losing team. But these matches are over in 90 seconds flat and the losing team will often have like 3 kills total for the whole team. It’s pretty brutal.
Blizzard if we wanna be technical
If we want to be literal, we are killing the game. It would be alive and well if we were all still playing. Clearly this is our fault.
honestly the game has been going down hill for awhile it barely runs on the switch currently and some characters remain mega op but the devs arent really listening to players i feel like unless its the esports stuff
It a little bit of everything
No content- Balance patches that don’t make too much sense- Blizzard themselves for wanting a “sequel” so badly- Us players stagnating on the same “meta”
Nothing is “killing” Overwatch it’s already in a maintenance state until OW2 comes out
What killed Overwatch? That’s a different story
Lack of content, balance changes, communication, no F2P, 2CP is still in the game etc.
The fact that they left certain characters irrelevant / not worth playing over others and completely stopped balancing.
Everything is wrong with OW.
How to kill a franchise 101.
Lack of content for Ow1, Showcasing OW2, Devs ignoring The Overwatch fans, Dumb balance changes like nerfs for Mei, Moira, Sym, Brig, Mercy, Orisa, Sig, Zarya and other underrated heros, also buffs for overrated heros like Tracer, Bap, Hanznoskill, Ana, etc. And of course Blizzard’s Unreliable Report System.
PD: remember the last video in PlayOverwatch channel? It got dislikes everywhere
