We should ban the Moira Popcorn pic

Just let them use it, it’s not hurting anyone around here.

As along as it is overwatch related, I don’t see any issue with it. Plus it is a game, and this is a public forum where you will have a variety of different opinions and personality.

I just appreciate that Ivan and the crew have took the time to eve create these overwatch emojis. I don’t think anyone should really take this matter so seriously, and instead just laugh it off.

I agree with you. I don’t support the OP banning it. I think it is mostly harmless. I have reported it one time in the entire time that it has been around.

1/3rd of the thread were two posters roleplaying that they were at a movie theather and talking about their day, the rest of the people were actually trying to talk about the OP in a mostly civil way. The Moira posters thought it would be controversial, but it wasn’t, and then they continued to spam talk about popcorn. THAT was obnoxious.

But that is really, really, really not the norm. I have read thousands of posts on these forums, and I have only seen that once. So I think banning the image altogether is both unreasonable and excessive. Just go by a post by post basis.

That’s impossible to do at this point that it’s been so engrained in these threads for this specific meaning that even the CS people who moderate the forums think it’s worthy of being removed.

Maybe, but any kind of joking humor on the OW forums comes at someone’s dismay when it comes to this.

How do you not consider it spam? It’s largely randomly posted with little to no context (if any words at all in the comment) and used to say that the controversial post is likely to get removed (because most of them either get removed or locked).

The image falls under the definition of spam as defined by Blizzard: “This post is an advertisement, or vandalism. It is not useful or relevant to the current topic.
By Webster: “unsolicited usually commercial messages (such as e-mails, text messages, or Internet postings) sent to a large number of recipients or posted in a large number of places
And by Google: “irrelevant or inappropriate messages sent on the Internet to a large number of recipients.

I just don’t think it should be considered spam. Well, i don’t consider it spam. It is obvious by now that we can’t change sprinkle’s mind, so at this point we should just leave.

They agree that it’s spam. They just don’t agree that it should be banned.

I also think it should be a case by case basis, but in reality, that case by case basis would be over 80% of the times it’s used.

It is purely for fun.

Thanks I do try

Large amounts of players’ posts it’s used on are disagreeing with that statement.

Everyone posting Moira: You make me proud to be on the internet.

Where?

I think it is spam because this is the definition of spam according to the code of conduct.

Spamming or Trolling
This category includes:

Excessively communicating the same phrase, similar phrases, or pure gibberish
Creating threads for the sole purpose of causing unrest on the forums
Causing disturbances in forum threads, such as picking fights, making off topic posts that ruin the thread, insulting other posters
Making non-constructive posts
Abusing the Reported Post feature by sending false alarms or nonsensical messages
Numbering a thread, IBTL, TLDR, or any other fad statements

Because of the bolded rules.

I just agree with you that the image shouldn’t be banned.

I just don’t at all… as I stated above that it is simply harmless. Typically people use it like this

This will be interesting…

Which again I don't find that being reportable. Also I don't think it is worth to report the user for posting such harmless memes that involves an overwatch hero.

As I do not agree with reporting people for doing such a thing because that can result in being falsely reported. Which is a huge problem on here… but that is a different topic and I am not going de-rail to that issue.

I don’t really care at this point. I’m just not going to report it if i see it.

The memes on this thread are so awesome…

I have reported it once, and I explained why. The mods agreed with me because they just removed that and left the post open. The people who posted it weren’t banned or had image permission removed either, as they were still posting images in another thread later that day.

It was just removed.

But usually it’s just funny, honestly. I almost never report it. It’s not like the height of humor or anything, but it usually makes me chuckle a little. Though I still prefer the old but good “This gonna b gud,” memes.

I also still think Michael Jackson has the best popcorn eating gif.

I just think the devs need to lock this thread… to avoid any un-wanted false report, or any more toxicity and/or negativity.

You weren’t going to engage in conversation with a statement title like that.

The mods, for one.

Me, for another.

Those with LGBT posts, for another.

Those with controversial opinions that are soon to get locked or deleted, for another.

Yet I still did?

I mean, where would you assume these things when we’re 430 posts in and I’ve responded quite a bit with somewhat meaningful discussion?

Just a suggestion if you’re making conversation starters maybe using words like “ban his” cause I don’t like it isn’t the best. But from your repsonse I see you’re quite emotionally invested on this topic so il see myself out.
