Not many people have been attacking you. Saying you are over-reacting is not attacking, unless done in an inherently toxic way.
I am very surprised at the amount of people that have chosen to die on this hill.
Like… come on now. Not like this is the height of humour. I believe in y’all that you can find better ways to express incredulity.
Humour is subjective though.
It’s just a terrible meme that needs to die.
It ressembles nothing about Moira other than the hair style and color .
I’m not talking about the ones that are just saying i’m over reacting.
I’m largely talking about the ones that are claiming things like my topic is spam, what I’m doing is against the rules, saying that my post is inflammatory (how in the world?), saying that me asking for this is insulting the people who made the forums (again, what in the world?), and just posting disrespectful memes towards me and my post.
It’s an opinion. It’s a thought. Players forget that there’s a human with a real life brain behind the other screen. Players forget that sometimes people actually believe in what they post. I believe that the moira “meme” is just a spam post that’s generally meant to laugh at the OP or the topic at hand while possibly derailing the conversation. The mods seem to somewhat agree as they remove most of them that are posted.
The one thing you see in common with most locked topics? Moira eating popcorn.
The one thing you don’t see with open posts? Not Moira eating popcorn.
Say they’re not related.
That is not constructive to the discussion an OP is trying to foster, or the topic of a thread. Which makes it against the rules. What you are describing is the chilling effect of speech, which is exactly why non-constructive posts are not allowed. People are supposed to be free to hold opinions that are unpopular.
Ones that are inflammatory are themselves violations of the rules, and Moira gif posters breaking the rules to tell such an OP they are breaking the rules does not change that they are breaking the rules.
If you want a symbol interpreted a different way than common usage, it is your responsibility to contribute to that understanding by communicating. If you do not do that, there is nothing unfair about the meaning defaulting to the common usage.
Society would literally crumble if every time someone used a symbol, we had to check with the individual person what they meant and no common understanding was gained. This is the reason dictionaries exist. It is the entire backbone of society.
That isn’t attacking you. It could be taken as critiscism.
I’m just surprised I haven’t been flagged enough to get this post locked for 24 hours.
Enough people seem to be voicing that they’re upset and that I’m making a mistake but I don’t care.
I stand by what I said, every bit of it. Most of those who argue against only stand for themselves, it’s what they do, they can’t apologize because it’s true.
But you have to take in other people’s interpretations as well. If somebody posts Popcorn and everybody is saying it isn’t appropriate or it is spam, it can be taken that way and reported, but if people are liking it and commenting about it being funny, you don’t need to take any notice of it and just move on.
I have to admit, the Moira popcorn pic is legendary, and thus should never be banned. It’s a great way to show off a potentially volatile thread coming shortly!
Read it better dude.
Not talkin about the post.
I’m sorry but since when is
“And it’s Genji Tears, of course it’s funny”
“gr8 b8 m8 i r8 8/8”
"I must now positively and respectfully respond by stating that this Meme will not harm you.
Neither is it anything to worry about. -.-"
criticism? At best, these are spam because they don’t relate to the topic at hand.
I can’t see if you respond to someone and they’re the comment directly above yours.
Sorry if it’s incorrect, just can’t tell because the forums are being the forums.
Were these in this thread? I’d need to know the context of the first one, but just report the second one. That is legitimate spam, and nor is it funny. Moira popcorn can at least be used in a funny way.
10/10 originality
CTRL + F. Searching is going to lead you to them if you search only this thread.
I would but I’m out of reports because of all of the other spam I’ve had to report here already.
Moira popcorn gifs are only funny in the irony of the situation (this kind of post but not much else). It may have been funny the first 2 or 3 times, but a few minutes ago, it was posted for the ~50th time. At that point, it’s actually spam.
Again, I’m out of reports because of all the other stuff I’ve had to report.
It being funny and not a big deal, and it being technically against the rules are two different things. They aren’t mutually exclusive.
I happen to think it is both funny, and technically against the rules. Because it’s non-constructive and a fad statement. In order to prove it isn’t, someone else would need to engage with the rules and show it’s usage furthers the dialogue in threads that it’s used in. Or why it isn’t a fad.
I’m not talking about this thread for popcorn, but it can also be used with humour in controversial threads.
It may be so, but it shouldn’t be reportable.
Why can’t we just get along… and don’t take things too seriously.
I just think the Moria Memes are just that, for humor and just for another way to say that this thread is going to be interesting, let me grab some popcorn and watch this thread.
I don’t consider it as spam at all, if anything I just have a good ole laugh ever time I see the MM (Moria Memes)
Exactly.
