We gotta stop making excuses because of OW2

I wish Mei got the removal of hard freeze on primary fire in the live game. What’s the reason it’s being added? They said she’s gonna get some more damage to compensate, so how does that “break the character”? It’s not some active ability that gets take away, not some cooldown that gets increased by 42 seconds, nor is it draining any resource faster. It’s not like Mr. cowboy’s ability that would have to be replaced with some else, it’s a bonus effect her primary fire has on top of already slowing.

Its generally what will sell me on ow2. I need a content release schedule for post-release or I can’t believe they fixed anything. Sure we get new shiny things to be wowed by , but its still going to be a live service game. They essentially upped their own content workload because now ppl will expect pvp & pve content continually.

I hear you and I agree, but realistically it doesn’t matter. It might upset you, but OW2 will have enough hype and preorders to counter all the disgruntled OW1 vets.

Did I miss those “hints”? The last I heard content creators “hint” at anything was some “bright future”, which could be anything from any lootbox becoming a legendary lootbox to changing the color of the payloads. Personally, I’m still waiting for the improved endorsement system OW team said they were “planning to update”.

incoming blizzard apologists who are gonna call you toxic for criticizing the game

Just as a correction, Echo came out in 2020, so it will be nearly 2 years since she’s released. But otherwise you are completely right.

Warzone and call of duty has more new stuff added than overwatch.

I would have kept freeze but remove ice wall that trolls abuse on there own team.

Jodie and mystic Myst talk but for all anyone knows all these dev and posters can be one person.

The last 3 years has been interesting to watch the “burning” of 3 games in particular.

Aka

  1. OW2 - which is like watching a trainwreck inside a delayed time loop inside the mirror dimension.

  2. Fallout 76 - Which is drying up to the point which it’s sinking the entire Fallout universe down the drain behind doors.

  3. Cyberpunk - Which is trying to save face (saying its making the game better), while at the same time recently firing off the long time devs a year later and silently ending production of promised all future dlc.

These will not be forgotten for sure.

There is also Star Citizen but to cover that is above my pay grade.

Consumers are morons, I have no doubt whatsoever that all of these travesties will be forgotten as soon as CDPR or Todd Howard waltz onto a stage and blather on pointlessly about how big and awesome and fantastic and industry-saving and industry-redefining their newest product is when it’s the same old s*** from 5 or 6 years ago.

The next Fallout will be an industry blockbuster despite the absolute trainwreck 76 was, and the fact that 3 and 4 were little more than barren shooting galleries compared to Interplay’s 1 and 2 and how a AA Studio made a better Fallout game in 18 months than Bethesda did in 5 years because Obsidian actually knew what they were doing

Acti-Blizz is too big to fail, they have the market cornered on 12 year olds, Fratbros and Soccer Moms thanks to Call of Duty and Candy Crush; they’ll never learn from their mistakes because they don’t have to, barring what seems to be the complete and utter brain-drain going on behind the scenes but OW2 will sell well and then everyone will forget about it within a handful of months when consumers remember why they stopped playing Overwatch to begin with

Blizzard: best I can do is hero skins

Inb4 they stop adding even those.

It’s really like what you said. What are we supposed to do? Play Overwatch 2 for two and a half years and then just sit in the Overwatch 3 waiting room?

Think about it guys, in about half a year, we will have been waiting for Overwatch 2 longer than we were playing the live service game we were promised.

Tbf I wouldn’t be surprised if OW2 isn’t going to be released at all. Who says it will be more popular than OW in it’s first years / in it’s current state? I suppose Blizzard is relying at on streamers rn and if they think OW2 sucks and they just abandon the game completely its rip OW

the world is on fire but

jesus 2 will arrive some time

and all will be saved

I agree.
But I have a theory that they have done all this stuff (not giving OW2, not updating the game, not telling us anything) as a punishment for the community being so toxic and salty and for us constantly complaining on the forums even when the game was in a good state and just finding anything to complain about.
So it could be the players own faults. They bit the hand that feeds.

Holding the dev team accountable when they make more money doing nothing because people keep alt accounts.

They had more peak players than Halo Infinite, COD Vanguard, and Battlefield during their Winter sale.

If I had one genie wish, I would want to know the actual amount of people who play overwatch. No smurfs or alts, just the real player population.
