We gotta stop making excuses because of OW2

Not really arguing for either side, just want to point out that Echo released in 2020. Time flies, but not that fast.

Even just asking for a bare amount of communication to what’s going on is apparently too much

Or just a small sentence in their awful balance change to why they’re doing it

If you all keep this up, they’re going to give Cassidy two charges of barrel roll, then where will we be?

I think the most insulting thing was a few months ago when they came out and said that communication like Jeff gave is not the norm for the industry, and thus they aren’t going to do it, oh how lucky we were to be given even the grace that we were. It’s like gaslighting it’s so goofy.

Meanwhile, I can find plenty of games giving plenty of feedback and vision for the future. You don’t need to do yule logs to be communicative.

Maybe there would be a beta but I find it weird if there was one. I’d assume they would either do a content creator one or limited player base one first and then do an open beta later on much closer to the release date. As stated in the OP’s post they said Diablo 4 and Overwatch 2 weren’t on their release schedule for 2022 in an earnings call and even the community manager said a 2023 release date wasn’t set in stone this could very well mean 2023 and + as a release date. It seems unlikely that they would do a year long beta specially if it’s only for the PvP of an existing game. Sure there’s balance changes and all but nothing is really Beta worthy.

Well, the only plausible explanation for what they did to Reinhardt in the recent patch is if they’re already prepping the players on how OW2 is going to be balanced.

Omg I’m so glad I wasn’t the only one super mad about this comment. Like oh great so this guy getting paid hundreds of thousands of dollars a year to lead the game isn’t going to communicate with us “because its not part of his personality”. Great

Was this before or after they said we would be getting more communication on OW2 cause so far that has been a lie and I don’t think that will change at all.

Whats crazy is that even Jeff’s updates were the bare minimum in terms of communication and he still needed to improve in my opinion. This game has suffered from lack of communication from the start and it’s mainly on the devs. There still isn’t a roadmap of what they want for the game, there aren’t any internal stats on characters, and we have to go through patch notes to find how much damage abilities do. This game is just so poorly structured and the devs are so terrible at communicating (even before the new lead dev) that I still don’t know why i stick around.

Literally what Jeff did brought so much attention to the game, the same thing was the case with Hearthstone and Ben Brode and that game lost so much attention when Ben left, the fact they’ve abandoned it just an awful idea

Just because it’s not the norm doesn’t mean it’s not a good idea, giving communication is literally soft-advertising and it gets people talking about the game

This is something they really need to release, what people don’t realise is that Overbuff doesn’t really contain any data from the Asian Region which play differently to us and thus people get the “wrong” idea on what heroes are strong

You are kinda late for the party. The game has been abandoned for years now.

Can I retweet this entire thread @blizzode

Blizz said they won’t be making any major changes until OW2. To expect anything else after being told that is kinda stupid tbh

We’ll get more info when the time is right. We all know what happens when a game is revealed/released too early… Lets not do that to Overwatch 2

Yeah, but the charts says…

Echo was released in 2020.

But the gap between Sigma and her was 8 months (Aug 2019). So your point still basically stands.

Just multi account ez

yeah thats my bad i was thinkin of sigma

I mean obviously PvE will bring a lot.

But delaying everything PvP in the process? Literally all we’re getting on the PvP side of things is basically a glorified balance update which we could just get… now.

Introducing new things is fine for new players, but holding all your stuff back that goes for literally the entire playerbase that PLAYED overwatch 1 (which is only pvp) is just dumb.

Yep. Turning every tank into what people already hate, a bunch of roadhogs. No personality just tanky mfs that are just DPS at that point. Since they have to be, they now have to do the work of 2 tanks because blizzard is just THAT bad at balancing they literally cannot figure out what to do with tanks, as they seemingly manage to make the most garbage metas out of them.

Agree 100000000000% dude.

Yo, AndyB?
Any communication dude?
Didn’t they hire like 3+ Community Managers?
Where’s the communication? Engaging with the community… once every 5 weeks?
Dropping just empty words?

One of the best OP posts in a while.

No excuse at all why there isn’t a roadmap or even some idea of whats happening.
