But shouldn’t normalization be the goal? Not as in making gays “normal” as in straight, but as in normalizing homosexuality itself? I don’t see why it needs to be some grand thing. I don’t see how being gay is any more significant than being straight. I just don’t see why people treat which diddly parts you like as such a defining feature.
where do you live, if I may ask?
I believe June is the Pride Month since they Pride Parade event happens on this particular month every year. December is the holidays month because the winter holidays are mostly celebrated on this month and they are global. Hanukka (a Jewish holiday) is celebrated on December quite frequently, as well as Christmas, and other holidays Idk their names and who celebrates them, but I know that there are.
the wondermark comic thats the originator of the term
sounds like there is no room for debate for people who have to live around you? I don’t support LGBT nor do I hate it, I just don’t like that you won’t consider how others around you feel about you in public, and before you say how you have been oppressed or whatnot let me quote your philosophy
If this skin does go through, Overwatch will be banned from many countries, and while I’m sure while Blizzard supports the community, they’re equally supportive of potential paying customers.
I’m gonna picky, and I’m gonna say it’s not just diddly parts, it’s body shape too.
For instance, my friend is lesbian and she likes really butch women.
I think the intent is raising awareness that there are still issues, whereas a lot of people in this thread seem to be woefully convinced that being LGBTQ is some kind of normal cakewalk these days.
Its better, in SOME places, and its not in others.
I think the message is: “it would be awesome if there was an awareness event (that you OPTIONALLY can donate to) that donates to LGBTQ charities, and Hey - here’s a Tracer skin for those that do!”
Where’s the be that supposed to be after the would?
nah i can prove it im just not gona waste my time cause you are probably just a big ol sea lion
like I said go post on the CMV reddit sub if you wana be convinced im not wasting my time on you
Well, yeah. Diddly parts was just used as a sort of blanket term for sexuality.
Yet you keep posting…
Yes, honey!!!
A Symmetra Pride skin would be EVERYTHING
she has more legendary than normal skins
I’m sorry, but I’m just sick of this debate. Trying to get people to listen to us doesn’t work. They don’t want to. So in the end I just say fine. It doesn’t matter in the end if they can’t understand and they don’t want to understand. If someone wants to understand, wonderful, let’s have a discussion. But if all people are going to do is tell us what we should want, then there’s no point listening. They have nothing productive to add.

Here are some things that you can read about if you so wished to that are happening in the current day that affect people of LGBT community in legislation.
Point is: discrimination is still very real, especially as you descend below the Federal gov’t level (and #45 administration has made several swings at taking away some of those federal protections)
(edit) PS: Just tacking the word “religion”, “religious”, etc. does not empower the nature of, or the persecutor’s right to, discrimination.
I get that, but I just don’t think it’s a good way to go about it. I don’t think the best way to achieve normalization is to put the thing you’re trying to normalize on a pedestal. Like I said, in my opinion it’s more likely to widen gaps than it is to unify.
This is in reference to the skin itself, not necessarily an event. Although an event would honestly feel a bit out of place, too.
You’re being extremely overreactive here. Someone suggests something nice and you get all pissy about it. They’re trying to help, just take it instead of rejecting it and being arrogant.
As a gay man, please no.
She’s annoying enough without also giving me eye damage.
Respectfully, I agree to disagree. I don’t think pretending things are normal, when they are not, is the way to get there. It hasn’t worked in virtually any area, but if you can think of good examples of how non-intervention has worked bring great societal justice, i’m all ears.
