No? Sombra has been able to for as long as I can remember.
Because Sombra isn’t even really a flanker when you really get into it? Or because Torb’s counter to flankers is something that Sombra herself counters? Or do you think Dive comps should have no realistic answer to Torb?
Look it up, Sombra could not hack while invisible for the vast majority of the game. Trust me, she’s only recently been able to hack from stealth and it’s a very significant change if you play Torb

Dive comps have plenty of counterplay to turret. It’s called shooting the turret like every character in the game besides Sombra does
Probably because you don’t play her. Sombra can’t be a flanker right now because she has zero sustain. The key part of being a flanker is being able to go in, waste time OR get kills, and get out.

Are you really playing Sombra as a front-line damage dealer? Why would she even have invisibility in the first place if she’s not supposed to be a flanker?
In fairness, Torb turret has a MASSIVE range compared to engi sentry and instantly snaps to targets which makes it a lot harder to just peak down without taking chip damage by the characters most affected by it.
It’s meant to considering how few actual weaknesses it has compared to engi turret. Back when it was actually buildable and had decent damage it was complained about constantly because it had all the strengths of engi’s turret without the weaknesses.
Flankers have NEVER been required to have sustain - that’s ridiculous. Plus, sustain is typically spoken about as a way for a character to regain health, which deflect does not do. By that standard, Rein has excellent sustain because of his shield. In reality, Rein has no self-sustain and falls over if there’s no one healing him. Deflecting bullets is not “sustain” its defense
Flanker means their playstyle revolves around getting behind the enemy and assassinating the backline. Their “sustain” comes from grabbing health packs or having harmony orb applied, for example
Anybody that argues projectile spam is effective outside of the area denial or ult generation side of the game, are low rank, low rank and bad.
For actual team fights, consistency is what matters. Hitscans, if on equal power as projectile heroes, are going to have a massive advantage when it actually matters. There are exceptions, usually tank busting, where just raw DPS overwrites when it comes to massive hitboxes. Hitscan heroes still have the advantage, overwhelmingly so, in general.
