I primarily play as support. I’ve been rotating between all of them lately. When I first started playing the game I mained Ana/Lucio then moved over to Mercy after Ana/Lucio got changed then moved over to Moira then to Zen, then bounced around through a few other heros. My profiles public and you can see my hero selection history on Overbuff if you are super curious. I was gold the one time I did placements in January/Feb of 2017 a month or so after I started playing and I was a gold if I recall correctly. I doubt I’m much better or worse.
I think that the PTR changes are a mistake
The armor change isn’t precise in what it nerfs and buffs and it will damage the feeling tanks have of well to be blunt being a tank.
The Reaper change makes him a massive threat at point blank that isn’t really fun to fight against but, he’s so bad at closing that I don’t think he’ll scale well. His being countered by CC will possibly lead towards more cc being used which honestly isn’t fun to play against.
The changes to Brig are liking dropping dirt on someone that’s on the ground they don’t do all that much but, it’s still flustering.
The changes to D.Va damage her ability to tank without really hurting her ability to shut down major abilities/plays and in my view that’s another bad call. Tanks should be Tanky.
I think the balance is terrible. I am significantly more useful to my team on some heroes than most others and their are heroes where I groan whenever I get one on my team. I think the majority of the heroes in the line up are not balanced.
With that said, for many of the heroes the balance varies by rank.
Ana for example is overpowered at the top of the ladder but, in pro play she’s not used all that much, and at my skill level in QP I do not want an Ana on my team.
I also think the design behind many of the heroes is really iffy and creates situations where people are happy when heroes are down.
For example, Sombra and Doomfist both clearly are having major issues and are both absolute annoyances to play against.
This also leaves heroes that are overpowered that people pretend are totally balanced because they aren’t very annoying.
Lucio and Zen are generally considered “balanced” despite both frequently holding above average winrates across the board and regularly being dominant in pro play.
