Day 1, people Pay to Unlock the New Hero. They Practice and Bully all the people who didn’t Buy the Battle-Pass in Quick Play.
“But it’s only Quick Play so Wins and Losses don’t matter, right?”
Well no, because Winning also increases how Fast you get Levels in the Battle-Pass, which means how Fast you get the actual Hero.
“Then what about when the New Hero is added to Competitive? Everyone should’ve Unlocked them by now, right?”
Most people, sure, but a lot of people probably didn’t have the Time and are now being Bullied by P2Ws and the people who Grinded.
“But the Majority of people who Play Seriously have the New Hero, right?”
Yes, they will. BUUUUUT THEN THE PEOPLE WHO PAID UPFRONT HAVE HAD 2 WEEKS TO PRACTICE SAID HERO, YIPPEE!
This means that you get Bullied for the first Few Weeks in Quick Play, forced to Grind through that Hell just to begin Playing that Hero, only to start Playing and STILL be Bullied by all the people who Paid, because they had Time to Practice!
And even if you Disregard my Points, why the hell are you Defending Blizzard? They don’t care about you, you’re not going to get a little Golden Star for Kissing their Butt. Locking Heroes behind a Battle-Pass in a Competitive Shooter is just Objectively Stupid.
i tend to agree here, its very dumb for a company to lock something related to the competitive game behind money, particularly a game like overwatch where swapping is not only a must but is incentivized. (and thats to say nothing of OW have almost no overlap unlike most Mobas)
the people that defend this and say things like “yeah well it happens in league LOLOLOLOL” and such dont understand how different this situation really is.
in league they have characters that function the same as eachother with a slight twist so if you dont have one you probably have the other and just as important you are locked to 1 champ once youve selected so even if their was a better pick you cant just swap.
overwatch intentionally designed heroes to be very unique from eachother so you wont see another kiriko ever again or another illari and that is why its p2w, if one of these heroes becomes hard meta and you dont have them you are at a disadvantage. and if your team mate doesnt have it, then you ALSO are at a disadvantage.
So you have to use an External Software and do Quizzes, because Blizzard doesn’t give anything?
Well for your Information ToeEnthusiast, I Boycotted the Game for the Entirety of August and have only played it Twice in September because wow, it’s so damn Boring now. I just had to try out the
‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘‘PvE’’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’
before it got Deleted forever.
Yeah except those people have just gotten the hero and have absolutely no idea how to play them. So you actually still have the advantage by playing a hero you have had practice with.
This is not a reason to ignore facts. “Even if you prove me wrong, why are you defending Blizzard?”. I mean do you realise how stupid this sounds? How are you going to make this entire argument and then end it with this?
You’re right about people having an advantage in comp by having 2 weeks to practice, but you’re wrong about being bullied in QP by the new hero. If that means I am half defending Blizzard then so be it.
I literally touched the new hero on day 1 and haven’t since. She’s not my play style and not worth the grind if that’s what someone is spending time on. Illari is def not a pay to win hero.
Good for them, in that two weeks they were learning new things, I was playing characters I was comfortable with testing how they deny/wombo around eachother.
If getting practice with the new thing is an advantage, why isn’t playing against it to learn it just as valuable?
But if the New Hero is Objectively Better than your Main, you’re out of Luck.
That’s still Defending Blizzard by Justifying letting them Pay-Wall New Heroes because “I probably won’t use them”. Just because YOU don’t use them, doesn’t mean another Player won’t want to Pick them up, only to get Crapped on by the 100 Hour Illari who Bought the Battle-Pass.
And all of this is without saying that said Hero could just Hard-Counter yours, or Hard-Counter one of your Hard-Counters. It’d be best for EVERYONE if this Awful Trend ends now, before you or anyone else get completely Stuffed by a Brand-New Perfect “UNINSTALL!” Hero with a Price Tag.
There is no better example of classism then F2P gaming. If you are a actual F2P’r your job is to be cannon fodder to anyone willing to invest each season due to the obvious power creep implemented with each new additional hero release.
This encourages people to buy the new stuff, if you dont, well enjoy getting rolled on by a support hero which for some reason has better DPS then the free DPS heroes you have access to. Ofcourse they’ll fix it… next season, when they release the next broken premium hero to purchase for 20$.
“Don’t argue even if you have a valid point, because if you do you’re a shill”
How mature
Anyway, I have a 57.7% winrate in QP, and I’ve never been bullied by players running the new heroes, nor have I ever bullied anyone using/practicing with the new heroes, nor have I had any issues leveling up as a free pass player.
