The glowing orbs are placeholders for character models. Usually, these appear when your system is running too slowly to load the models before the round starts, or when there’s a bug with your system preventing the models from loading. The missing models is also often found with missing audio and particle effects as well. As far as I know, this isn’t a bug in of itself as much as much as it is an indicator that there was an error with asset loading. Fortunately, restarting or reinstalling the game usually clears it up. It’s definitely frustrating when it happens, but luckily to my knowledge, it is only ever a temporary issue that resolves itself. I hope this helps.
im not appearing in top 500 dps leaderboards for NA after winning 52 games with sms and email verification. On my 50th win it said “you are higher than 100% of players in top 500” and still has me not on the leader boards. Usually it would just say “you are max rank” but not anymore yet im still not there. standard blizzard
Hi I have just made a thread on invisible players, its happened to me and I have evidence if you’d like to add it to your megathread
B1Visa: That is definitely strange. While that may very well be a bug, I would definitely try to play a few more games just to be sure, as this issue can occur due to games with leavers not counting towards the win requirement, or wins completed on different servers counting independently of each other. In case you didn’t see my reply on your thread, I’ve linked the full list of potential solutions to your Top 500 leaderboard placement issue below. I hope this helps.
LuxWulf: I would be more than glad to accept any evidence of your issue. Luckily for you, as far as I know at least, the glowing orbs issue is not a bug in of itself and usually resolves itself. The glowing orbs are placeholders for character models. Usually, these appear when your system is running too slowly to load the models before the round starts, or when there’s a bug with your system preventing the models from loading. I played overwatch 2 and I believe that it was after season 3 your competitive rank should have stayed the same when the new system started. So come season 4, I was supposed to be Diamond 3, I played a lot and grinded the game to get this rank that I was happy with.
However, your system bugged and it placed me in Platinum 3 or 4 and not Diamond 3. I also didn’t receive any competitive rewards, weapon tokens and tiles for the season 3 progress of being a Diamond rank… This was a bug that was later fixed and acknowledged. However, it still ranked me at Platinum and I continue to be at the platinum level. Shouldn’t my rank display as Diamond? Since you guys did acknowledge the bug.
All you need to do is look at my history and acknowledge the bug in your ranking system for overwatch 2. I’m disappointed for playing and grinding and being an active concurrent player and then all my progress gets stripped away from a bug that you never fully fixed.
Faced a bug today, when my comp win game was counted as a draw. I was on my lost streak (6 loses) and when I won that last game, it wasn’t counted on my “5 win/15 loses” screen. I went to check history and I saw that this game was counted as a draw (2-0). I have full video footage of that match and my history report that proves our win with “Victory” screen in the end.
Can we fix this? Can you imaging how bad and frustrating it feels to be on a lose streak, win a game and didn’t receive a rank update for that last game???
YEM: Correct, in Season 4, seasonal decay was removed and your outward facing competitive rank was synced with your MMR, but there was a bug for some players in Season 4, and even in Season 5, in which their ranks were incorrectly impacted by the supposedly removed seasonal decay. However, this should have been permanently fixed starting in Season 6. While its definitely frustrating that this bug unfairly impacted your rank, with the MMR sync change, any games you played starting in Season 6 going forward should result in accurate rank adjustments. I hope this helps.
tumblrgirl: That is definitely a frustrating bug, but luckily, I have recorded previous reports of this bug under the subcategory: Competitive Match Game Score. The list is short, so I’ve gone ahead and listed them below. Unfortunately, there aren’t any known solutions to this bug on the players side, so the only thing we can do is to bump up posts about this issue and hope that a Developer will notice and fix it. Including any evidence, whether screenshots or videos, will be of great help in getting this bug fixed as well. I hope this helps.
Hey Azdyph.
It seems like that thread on false bans in the General Discussion board got deleted. Not sure if it was the author or the moderators, though.
To say I am surprised would be a lie. I had documented that thread on the competitive bugs megathread too, and it does appear that thread is no longer viewable. Considering the forum moderators’ past history, I would be very surprised if it was in fact the author who deleted that thread. I cannot help feel frustrated towards this whole situation. It is absolutely true and evident that false bans do occur, and it is a disgrace that the forum moderators continually silence players who speak out about their issues in the one place where their voices are meant to be heard. But for now, the only thing we can do is to keep bringing attention to these issues and to document future threads before they are lost. Thank you for letting me know about this.
Like many players here, I’m still missing my Competitive rewards from Season 2 of Competitive Mystery Heroes where I was placed in Masters, and for the regular Competitive mode, Season 6, where my end of the season rank was Diamond for Support, which I also didn’t receive my CP end of the season points for.
My platform is PlayStation.
Nytebyrde: I’m copying my reply here just in case:
There was a new requirement implemented to earn competitive points each season, which currently is to win 5 games for Role Queue Competitive or Open Queue Competitive respectively. However, if you did win these 5 games and completed the competitive challenger requirement, then this is likely a bug. Unfortunately, the developers have only twice retroactively awarded bugged competitive rewards, for Season 3 and Season 4. The only thing we can do now is to keep bumping up similar threads about this issue and hope the developers will fix them. You can find a list of such similar threads in the Competitive Bugs Megathread under the subcategory: End-Of-Season Competitive Rank And Rewards. I hope this helps.
Hey my Top500 doesnt show. Im Masters1 in Ranked Open Que. That should be between Rank 57-73 on the Leaderboard. Im fully secure on my account. I have 88 wins so its just bugged.
Pls blizzard fix this issue.
bump bump bump
I want my top 500 rewards, I had them on two accounts season 36 then after an update before ow2 dropped they were taken away.
blizzard please acknowledge our posts
Blizzard, hear us. For once.
Fate: You are not alone in experiencing this bug. I’ve linked the competitive bugs megathread at the bottom of this post, which archives and documents almost every competitive bug. I’ve compiled a list of similar posts regarding similar bugs under: Not Appearing On Leaderboards. I’ve linked the full list of potential solutions to your Top 500 leaderboard placement issue below:
infiniteorbs & Akiyama: As of today, December 29th, 2023, Activition-Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick has officially stepped down and left the company. Hopefully this change in leadership will allow the Overwatch Developers to more freely work on this game, fix its long standing issues, and award us the rewards we earned. But only time will tell if this truly was a good sign that more positive changes are on the way…
I genuinely think Bobby leaving will not change anything for the game as a whole.
True, changes in leadership this high up the corporate ladder likely won’t have any noticeable impacts on the developer level for several months, but at the very least, there should be fewer horror stories happening and interfering with the developers’ work. Only one way to find out I suppose…
By waiting, right? Feels like this is the only thing we’re doing here.
I also didn’t get multiple seasons of top 500 rewards, though when I reached out to Blizzard after the first time, I was told in summary that they weren’t going to do anything about it. Only a few people were posting about it at the time even though the season ended with only 200 T500s in those categories lol. Sorry to see it’s affected so many more people.
Hundreds of players lost their Season 36 Top 500 rewards when looking across all the regions and platforms. I don’t believe we will ever receive the rewards we earned, but that does not mean we should give up either. Retroactively awarding in-game items is a capability the developers possess, and have used multiple times in the past, such as with the end-of-season rewards for Seasons 3 and 4, and Trials of Sanctuary, and Twitch/YouTube drops. Retroactively fixing career profiles is also a capability the developers possess, which while exceedingly slow, has been directly addressed and promised a fix by the devs, and is still an ongoing process. The only thing left to do is to keep bumping up these threads and waiting.
And I’m not sure if you saw the comment I left on your bug thread a few months ago, but I’m still more than happy to accept any photos, videos, or other evidence you have of your Top 500 placement and missing rewards. Anything to help prove this issue exists and to get it fixed would be greatly appreciated.
