The Competitive Bugs Megathread

To answer your comment in my own thread, to which I can’t seem to be able to reply to (idk why):

Not really excited because I got a 2 weeks ban right after the anniversary started LOL. The reason? I don’t know. No mail. They just decided I wasn’t welcome to their anniversary - nor was I welcome to the S36 leaderboards, am I right?

CAWCAWMFR: In my personal opinion, 6v6 was always the truest form of Overwatch for a multitude of reasons I can’t be bothered ranting about. As such, I for one would gladly welcome its return, though not more so than the return of my rightfully earned Top 500 rewards.

Akiyama: That is very strange. The only reason I could think of that would prevent you from posting a comment is if it is your third consecutive comment on another thread, or your second consecutive comment on your own thread, or if you were silenced, or if it contained profanity. If you know the ban length was two weeks however, perhaps there is a way for you to find more information regarding the ban. The lack of notification though is not strange. In fact, it was especially prevalent for players who had their accounts falsely terminated due to bugs with the Defense Matrix system. And as for the anniversary itself, you are not missing out on much. Compared to previous anniversaries and even other events in Overwatch 2, this event is arguably the most disappointing one yet, and that is an accomplishment in of itself.

I’m only missing out on the second week of the anniversary, I had time to do the first week and I’ll be unbanned tomorrow for week 3. “Yay…”
But well, just shows how much love we get from Blizzard right? One year later, the only thing I got was a ban LOL.

The error when trying to view a replay listed:

Replay error An unknown error has occured. (9-00)

I’ve found 2 threads with the same issue from 2020, 2022 with no solutions.

It comes and goes with the mini patches, its currently “on” (can’t se replays)
Change to public profile didn’t help, and shouldn’t.

Calamarcillo: I know there have been several large threads regarding issues with the replay viewer, but unfortunately, they are not related to competitive so I do not have them listed. However, I did look into your issue and found a few threads containing potential solutions besides the public profile solution you might want to take a look at. I hope these will help.

Akiyama: Well, Blizzard gave me an account warning and an account silence, so I think its clear which one of us Blizzard loves most.

Just logged back into the game. I haven’t lost my Recommendation level (which you’re suppose to lose if you get banned), so that was definitely a bug or something weird. Give me my 2nd week rewards, Blizzard.

And “congratulations” on your warning! Feels good being an Overwatch player doesn’t it?

Tyvm,
I tried several of the mumbo-jumbo solutions provided by people. I think it more coincidence than anything else, since solutions are:

  • renew public up
  • change profile from anything to public
  • change dns
  • unblock windows services/programs in firewall
  • clean your mouse with an cold african-tea and leave it ouside overnight
  • use a ouija table instead of a keyboard for a couple of quick plays
  • prey to developers before bedtime for a week
  • become a famous streamer (I’ve been unable to try this one)

None worked

I knew it would probably be a long shot that any of those solutions would work, but it’s still unfortunate that none of them did. It looks like your situation truly is a bug then, in which case, the only people who can fix it is Blizzard. But seeing how few people are effected by it, I don’t have high hopes it will be addressed any time soon. The only thing we can do is to keep bumping up threads about this issue and hope a developer sees and fixes it. And while I don’t have a list of those threads documented on this megathread, you can easily find them through the forum’s search function, or even just googling. I hope this helps.

Patch notes for season 7 are out, no surprise no fix to the stats bugs…

They do not care. I’m also starting to care less and less about the game, which is a shame as it was by FAR my most loved multiplayer game. But OW2 kind of killed it for me - skins are harder to get, content is dry, I never liked 5v5 nor will I ever like it I think lol, bugs never get fixed, random bans without mails… It’s like this game doesn’t want us anymore.

Is there anyway to fix my pc competitive stats not being displayed and only my console stats being displayed.

Honest answer? No, mate. Might self fix in the new season but its an ongoing issue and has been since the game launched. We can only plead to the devs, who aren’t listening.

Let me guess. Nothing got fixed?

DaKrazyone: Seconding Snakebite, there is unfortunately no known solution to the bug regarding the syncing of competitive statistics between gaming systems. This bug has been an issue since the launch of Overwatch 2, and while there have been reported cases of some players eventually having their stats returned to them over time, there has yet to be a comprehensive fix for the thousands of players still experiencing this issue. The only thing we can do is to keep bumping up this issue and hoping the devs will eventually fix it.

Snakebite: And to no one’s surprise, there is no fix to the missing Top 500 rewards bug either…

Akiyama: Unfortunately, you are not alone in the sentiment. The player count, the google searches, the twitch viewers, even the number of bug forum users dropping significantly since launch are evidence of this. But why do any of these issues matter when profits continue to climb?

Another season where I didn’t receive my competitive title or points. Has there been any update on when this will be potentially fixed? I really don’t see the point of continuing to play this game if we are not receiving our rewards for our effort.

Assuming that you completed the 15 minimum wins requirement to be eligible for end-of-season competitive rewards, then this is likely a bug. Unfortunately, while there have been two occasions in the past where end-of-season rewards were retroactively fixed, the Devs have not indicated that there will be one for this season. As for player side solutions, there are no known solutions to this as not even customer support can grant these rewards. The only thing we can do is to keep bumping up threads about this issue and hoping that the Devs eventually fix it.

Been having the same problem blizzard really needs to fix this because I know some people that didn’t get their competitive rewards for a few seasons now

ChaxSlax: Just reiterating what I’ve said above, assuming that you completed the 15 minimum wins requirement to be eligible for the end-of-season competitive rewards this season, then this is likely a bug. The only thing we can do is to keep bumping up this and other threads about our missing rewards, and hoping the Devs will listen to us and fix it.

[Competitive Career Profiles Bug Update]
Game director Aaron Keller made a tweet yesterday acknowledging the much anticipated career profiles bug fixes in which he says that the fix caused some additional issues and won’t be implemented until Season 8 at the earliest. Let’s hope this second prediction ends up being more accurate than the first.

I experienced invisible players on route66 today. An invisible enemy DF and someone else IDK what it was (figured out from looking at score board). Eventually I noticed all that was visible was a tiny glowing orb where that player is supposed to be. No sound effect, or visual effects generated from those particular player models. It was in a comp game too, extremely frustrating.
