Easy: mass resurrect had more to do with making decisions, while also not being entirely dependent from your teammates being great. Should you resurrect now, or wait for more players to die, so more will be resurrected? Is it worth the risk? Where is good position to reach all dead teammates, while not getting killed?
With Valkyrie, your decisions are identical to ones you make without one. It doesn’t add anything new.
Ana has a higher rate of healing than Mercy if you just look at Mercy holding a beam on someone and Ana hitting them with shots from her rifle. In a real game, though, Mercy will be “hitting” 100% of the time while Ana will not be hitting every shot - especially if I am playing her
Honestly, it looks like it’s just ReveryMercy’s posts that got merged. I could be wrong, though. It would make sense considering they have a lot of the same threads on the front page.
They may just be trying to reduce the repetition of clutter?
If hiding and rezzing is such a problem just give it a cast time like the original poster said.
Also I think that their valk idea isn’t very good tbh. Mercy is a 1 star difficulty hero, and a 25 second cooldown wouldnt be very good for new, or even old players to handle. Giving something the longest cooldown in the game is just nonsense
Valkyrie still poses the same decisions… Rez takes just as much thought and you still have to assess the situation around it.
The only thing you don’t have to decide on (kind and half-ly) is who you choose to heal as chains make it easier but if they’re spreads out then you decide what’s more worth it.
It’s literally the same Mercy with a new E and a new ultimate.
Not really. I always know, that 1 rez isn’t gamechanger: by the time I finish it, someone else will die. And unlike mass resurrect, which could help just by number advantage, single rez is completely reliant on that player you resurrect.
Yeah the one person rez isn’t going to change much. Usually before you finish the rez 2 other teammates have died from lack of healing, and you’re just standing there for 1.75 seconds waiting to be killed
Haha, with my new and improved Valkyrie that would happen a lot less, less cast time means more time to heal and assist your teammates. You’re welcome.
Any more probelms? Or are we just looking for reason to make a revert look more appealing?
I like the idea of the 1.25 cast time and 30% damage resistance, because if that mercy doesn’t have brig armor then she can get sniped while rezzing, which is a really good counter. Since a fully charged headshot does 300 damage, it’d still do 210 damage with the 30% resistance. If i’m being honest I never got to see mercy’s mass res but i desperately wish I had. Her ult rn just doesnt feel on the scale of all the other ults. Valk hardly has the “ability to turn the tide of the game” in my opinion
Yet players have no concerns over who is healing most over course of round. If you got bad aim, then you can also pick Lucio or Zenyatta, their healing doesn’t require aiming either. Brigitte is also in that list.
That’s why you stand behind corner. Hide & rez is now primary strategy, which doesn’t rely on other team being blind or ignoring that bright glow around Mercy.
Resurrect was supposed to be last resort ability, when healing is not enough. But since you can’t use it in dire situations, healing is always more important.
