Sombra should not hack the ults

Yes, I’m aware of that. I’ve been playing Overwatch since 2020 so I know fully well both versons of sombra. Again, I was just pointing out the flaws in balance and which hero gets nerfed and doesn’t get nerfed being inconsistent.

And I agree that sombra isn’t that annoying for majority of the tanks, it’s only in specific cases like sigma/orisa when they ult.

Trying to play wrecking ball was a nightmare back in OW1 against sombra + bunch of other DPS and supports that made ball unplayable. Hog’s take a breather used to get completely cancelled by sombra’s hack before the rework, etc. Tanking experience against sombra is definitely much better now than before, but there’s still room for improvement.

I understand tanks need help. But sombra isn’t their problem.

I’m fine with certain abilities countering ults like deflect & sleep. They take atleast bit of skill unlike hack & punch which is on short cd.

ult that takes a long while to charge and it get instant shut down on <7 sec ability with zero skill that is just dumb.

This game always been a press q and win. It gives a instant dopamine when there is a team-kill.

A lot of Ball / Doom tank players seem to think so.

I don’t play Ball or Doom so I don’t know, but they seem to think Sombra is an issue.

I don’t mind if Sombra is reworked, I’ve played Sombra for a long time now, if she isn’t reworked often, is it even Sombra any more :wink:

Does she need it? Maybe.

Do I mind if she does? nope.

And they clearly changed it because you know what kills dopamine? Dying because somebody pressed Q once

Ball is and always has been countered by her same with doom. When momentum is your weapon and then the hero that stops it will counter you. But even then losing abilities for 1s as doom and ball isn’t nearly as close as it used to be when you’d lose 6-8s. She doesn’t counter them remotely close to how she used to counter them.

The same goes for losing the ult that the player spend accumulating to disappear on dumb no-skill ability. It’s a big bummer for dopamine hit.

Seen plenty of players switching after that or playing poorly after that.

If they removed her ability to hack ultimates they’d probably give back the damage boost of hack as compensation. I really don’t think you’d like that.

A bottom 5 dps doesn’t need further nerfs

If you want to add another .5 seconds for the duration it takes to hack another hero because people are slow, sure. But saying hack shouldn’t cancel ults that can also be disrupted by other heroes does not make any sense balance wise.

I hope you’re not suggesting she’s invisible when hacking, because if so, you and a number of others need to drop that lie; it’s also a sign of who hasn’t actually played around with her. She shuts off cloak when hacking heroes, and even when hacking health packs or Torb’s turret, her silhouette is fully visible.

you cant hack someone who is already “hacked”

and the hack ability has two stages after it is applied

there is the initial “hack” part where abilities currently in use are cancelled, and you are unable to use them for about a second

the second part places you in the “hacked” state where you can be seen through walls and take crit impact damage from virus + faster DoT

Nah i think it’s a completely valid thing to ask. cuz at least the other abilities that can shut down ults have long CD or are hard to land, Like whenever i play Sigma and a sombra player is on the enemy team and alive, i just can’t ult, Cuz idk where she is, i can’t dodge her, And i can’t bait out such a short CD. the resource exchange isn’t fair

sigmas ult in general is just not very good either

you can cancel it with anything from tree of life to roadhogs hook, doomfists fist, or orisas javelin

She also should not have permanent stealth. It should be a resource use.

How so? If the sombra is waiting for your ult then she’s invisible and completely useless in every other way. She just stands there being held hostage waiting for an ult to go off. You can literally hold a sombra hostage by just not using your ult until they get board and make a move.

That’s not how that works, it’s not that sombra is waiting on you or not, it’s that you don’t know if she is, because it’s very hard to keep of a person who’s invisible 80% of the time. and more importantly it’s just not fun, can’t use your ultimate ability, the most exciting part of your kit because of another character litterally existing

Blah blah blah. It’s not fun. So this is why the game is balanced around stats. Because we would all be soldier 76 if unfun dictated balance.

Good way to ignore what i just said, No actually we wouldn’t be all be soldiers 76, because if everyone was then it wojld be unfun now would it, in fact your logic is the otherway around, if we Focus on everything being perfectly or fair and balanced over fun then we’d all end up as 76.

Guess what we’re playing. A Video Game. It’s suppose to be fun 1st and foremost, the only reason why something unfun should be in a video game is out of necessity.

It’s not necessary for an invisible person to be able shut down an ult with an ability that requires no aim, no timing and is on a very short CD. as another guy said there’s already a ton of ways to counter something like a sigma ult, we don’t need yet another.

Okay cool. So fun is what we’re balancing around. Zarya then needs a rework or to be removed. I find her bubble mechanic to be unfun to play into because it requires me to stop engaging with her to prevent her from getting strong. And my teammates just keep shooting her to charge her. A hero SHOULD not dictate when I can and can’t do damage. They also have one of the most OP ults that’s incredibly unfun to play into. She needs to me removed because I find it unfun and unfun aspects shouldn’t exist.

And I do actually hate zarya and would like her removed.

Is her Bubble mechanic a necessity? would the game get worse if she didn’t have it?, yes. And if the majority of people have the same view as you then Blizzard should look into, but they don’t
