Which is why I have no problem with the second balance change. If you don’t see how the first one is bad then I don’t know what to say.
The first one isn’t bad, that’s the point.
Widowmaker isn’t going to lose a fight against Sombra SOLELY because she doesn’t have her hook. Can’t be said for Tracer vs Sombra or Genji vs Sombra. Wonder why that is?
The one how she actually has to commit to a hack and can’t just hold down right click and wait for someone to reload?
Yea, poor Sombra.
Lol… if you’re holding down right click while someone is lacing into you don’t you think you’d, i don’t know, die?
Idk lol

- I’d assume cancelling hack in general would put it on CD. I doubt they have some special way that indicates HOW it was cancelled. He was likely using damage as an example, and if it is only damage, cool. Still a *$%^ nerf to give to hack.
- Shooting at her and staying with your team and working together was already counterplay to hack.
- Here let me enlighten you. She was garbage tier before these buffs. With the current buffs she got a little better, but she also got nerfed pretty hard by losing ult charge on healthpacks. Sure she can do damage a little better and Translocator is up a little more, hack takes .15 seconds less to pull off, and certain targets are affected by hack a little more. Now whenever Hack is cancelled(Whether it be by damage or w/e it’ll be) you can’t use it for 2 whole seconds. She therefore loses a LOT of consistency and reliability from the ONE thing that makes her useful. She was at a point where hey, you COULD use her in place of another DPS and it wouldn’t hinder your team’s chances at winning too much. Now why would you pick her over any other DPS? EMP? Yeah that doesn’t charge as quickly anymore, just grab Genji or Tracer for faster ults that don’t require your team to have the coordination for it to have value.
- It seems to be the opinion of most sensible Sombra mains from what I’ve seen. We don’t want out hero to be garbage, and we know what would make her garbage. This? Yeah. It will.
These wouldn’t be entirely unreasonable (though still worse than pre-buffed Hack) if she were actually overbuffed (not simply frustrating to play against) or you compensated elsewhere, but as it stands, she’s going to be worse off than before the changes.
Completely removing the ult charge from Health Packs has meant Sombra needs to play much more aggressively, be much more reliant on Hack, and therefore make riskier Hacks than previously. You need to take this into account with balancing her if you don’t want to destroy her,
I know you guys are seemingly allergic to going back on anything but please consider going back to .8s Hack or trying it at .75s (possibly with the LoS checks?), and, restoring ultimate charge from Health Packs at a nerfed rate, even if only for Sombra herself.
She likely will unless she’s very lucky, just like most heroes.
eyy just want I said, nice
Exactly.
Now there’s no point in even trying to do that.
By the time you’ll get another opening, you’ll have it off of CD anyways. 2 seconds isn’t exactly a huge amount of time.
Strange times when I’m seeing a Blizzard team deliver reasonable nerfs.
Why am I not surprised that you have 28 minutes on Sombra and think this is reasonable?
So why even HAVE the cooldown to begin with? It’s not like this makes her easier for heroes like Reinhardt who she outranges and shuts down, the only thing this helps is people who ALREADY had an advantage with hack. Namely Tracer.
Why mention only genji and tracer? Ana, Mercy, Rein, D.va, Winston, Reaper, Lucio, Pharah, etc. All of them will lose a fight if Sombra can outaim them, Tracer and Genji are not an exception, if they can outaim sombra they have as much chance of surviving as any other hero listed.
you call a headshot luck?
Everyone’s opinions are valid no matter how much time they have on a hero.
Then you’re back to going 5v6 in teamfights with a Sombra on your team. Sombra has one of the lowest damage among the DPS. The only ones with lower damage than her per game are Mei, Reinhardt, and the healers.
1: Cool, an assumption that is directly counter to a post from a person of authority that probably had to go through several people for clarity before it could even be posted so it fits your agenda. Not suspicious at all.
2: The “Teamwork is counterplay” argument is worthless and you know it, as it says it’s okay for a character to be so strong it requires two people to take down, which totally sounds balanced.
3: Yeah there was definitely nobody using sombra at high ranks, where the teirs of characters you play actually become important. Definitely not, and toally not even a youtube channel dedicated to one.
4: By sensible, do you mean people who agree with you?
I’d argue that if you have less than 30 minutes on a hero, you don’t fully understand how the hero plays, what their weaknesses are, what their strengths are, etc.
So, you can have an opinion. Is it valid? Maybe. Is it credible? Much less.
