The cooldown is heavily nerfed and unforgiving in OW2 so if an Ana is firing sleep darts into the tank all the time they’ll probably lose since flanking will be more viable in OW2. If you want them to be boring and keeping in theme with the rest of the OW2 changes to CC heroes, sure they could delete sleep dart and give her mobility but that would be lame.
OMG I’m dying ! Good one !
Well, Zenyatta had some sort of jump buff on last Experimental. That was a step in the right direction. Maybe this will make it to OW2 (in an improved version).
Also, I wish Ana would have a jump-roll like the one displayed in one of her intros ^^'… but the forums would definitely not have it haha…
Also, if they were to switch Valkyrie as an ability and remove resurrect, I would like Mercy to have a blinding ult / ability like the one we saw in “Storm Rising” when she blinded the drivers (which caused a traffic accident lol).
It’s funny how they completely reworked Hack into a glorified damage amplifyer and straight up removed Stun aspect from Shield bash but the best they could do to Sleep dart is increasing its cooldown by 2 seconds.
This says way more about the community than it does the character. If the community whines, then the character’s kit is bad? What if I introduced a character with 1000 HP, a one shot ability on their M1, but people didn’t complain about him. Would he automatically be a balanced and well designed character?
Or, what if the community complains about characters for stupid reasons. Remember when people complained about widowmaker being OP, but those same people did nothing to stop widowmaker when she was shooting them? Is that really Widowmaker’s fault?
They outright removed Mei’s ability and just replaced it with DMG. If Ana loses it it should just be replaced with more healing if we aren’t playing favourites.
Oh wait, that’ll never happen because Ana mains will get upset about it and blizzard will bend over backwards for them. Oh but Mei mains? Yea who cares about those people, just do the bare minimum and watch the crowds cheer because the neutered ability has been removed.
I’d take a significant nerf on Ana’s nade over sleep dart removal any time of the day. It’s not hard as it is to land big nades in OW1 but in OW2 with 1 less tank to block stuff nade is going to be a lot more opressive.
Revert nade radius back to her launch numbers and she can keep her sleep dart.
Huh, I didn’t know that.
But if I had to guess, this 1.5s is going to be reduced. And maybe I’m imagining things, but wasn’t there talk of a role passive for tanks that makes them CC-resistant? It might mean less duration on sleep.
Rather make sleep dart duration to 2.5 seconds. Never really had an issue with sleep dart. But yes favoritism with certain heroes not getting addressed even with a ton of CC is there
What if Sleep was a slow instead of a, well, sleep?
Imagine suddenly moving in slow motion (like you do at the end of rounds), all moves take a long time to pull off, you fire 90% slower than normal etc.
Not sure if that would be worse than just being out for the count for a few seconds. But it would be different if nothing else.
Oh god that’d be so evil, they should do that to sombra hack ahaha
They hate Mei for some reason. It’s probably because the community cries about her being able to freeze people, but ignore that that’s the whole point of her character.
You know what’s scary?
Sleep dart is the weakest part of Ana’s kit.
Top tier ultimate
Arguably best single button in game (Nade)
Amazing HPS potential
None falloff damage that stacks. (You can hit it repeatedly and it’ll always add on, never take over)
ball player btw. grain of salt
I have suggested this for sleep dart many times and I think it would make the ability a lot more healthy, and should even be considered before OW2:
Sleep dart duration should inversely scale with target HP pool.
Now the easy-to-sleep targets (tanks) won’t be affected for as long, and you still get a nice reward for hitting nimble targets.
sleep has one of the biggest hitboxes out of most projectiles in the game, it’s extremely forgiving, especially on a target as massive as a tank
Multi-Second “Full” stuns should never have been part of Overwatch to begin with.
Something like Sigma Rock is a great example of what a good stun “should” be by comparison.
Now, partial stuns like Grav or Hack I’ve got no issue with lasting for longer.
It’s definitely not a skill shot on tanks, true.
DUDE I’m so mad they removed his rock’s stun duration being distance based, that was so cool to watch and do, now it’s just a generic stun
What you will see a lot of in the reworks/rebalancing of popularity bias - certain kits like Genji, Tracer, Ana, etc. will get slaps on the wrist, and I wouldn’t put it past the devs to indirectly even buff them. They already confirmed Lucio kept Boop, no question in my mind Ana will keep sleep dart.
Yeah anyone thinking that needs to get a grip…
the irony in that because slows are literally the kind of CC that impacts immobile heroes more than mobile ones.
like if you’re slowed as a mobile hero, you can just use 1 of your bountiful mobility abilities to move where you need to go quickly e.g. tracer doesn’t really care about slow, she’s still going to blink around which isn’t really effected much by slow.
meanwhile say a rein or zen is going to feel the impact of a slow a lot more because they got nothing to bypass the effect.
