blizzard must be so happy with their monetization, by the time anyone sues them, they will have made enough profits to pay off all of the court fees easily.
No, Iām aware that in huge portions of the world, access to a phone or the internet is considered a luxury.
One countryās poor man is another countryās rich man. Perspective.
65% of the worldās population has internet access. 35% does not. And youāre here complaining that your free pixels arenāt unlocking fast enough in your free videogame on your computer because you instead have to pay for your internet connection in your house with electricity, running water and sewerage.
Compared to a huge portion of the world, youāre living a life of luxury and yet you complain about pixels.
I do not think they can be sued since every game company has this form of monetization in their games and they likely avoided most lawsuits by letting us buy the bundle items separately.
you cant buy the bundle items separately (yet)
I thought you could. Didnāt they post about that earlier last week?
ok show me, i didnt see that post.
And the point goes straight over your headā¦ again.
You, as a veteran player, have most of the trash. So your chance at getting a legendary skin is much higher. Therefore, your $20 spend on loot boxes was able to net you $60 worth of legendary skins. Great value for money!
Newbie McGreen on the other hand swings in, his first day playing Overwatch. His $20 of loot boxes will earn him mostly trash, because he hasnāt collected it all yet. Heās going to get single shade skins, heās going to get sprays, voice lines, poses etc. Not the things he actually wants. So then heās going to feel like he needs to spend more, because maybe that next box will have what he wants. So he spends another $20, but because heās still a new player, heās still getting low quality stuff, maybe a few rare or epic voice lines if heās lucky.
And again he doesnāt get what he wants, so maybe he tells himself, again, that this time, you know, this time heās going to get the legendary skin. Heās going to āwin bigā when he opens that box. And maybe this time he does. Maybe he gets that one legendary skin heās really looking for. He feels great right? But while you, Viktor the Veteran spent only $20 to get that skin and more, he spent $60 and only got one thing that he actually wanted.
If you canāt see whatās wrong with that, and still think thatās better than just flat out spending $20 for what you want, without any fuss, then I donāt know what more to tell you other than that you need to break out of the delusional cube youāve boxed yourself into.
Yep itās been live.
most items, i wonder what that means. im guessing they dont want you to have the nametags separately, so theyll probably cherry pick the best stuff to lock into the bundle.
I donāt remember loot boxes giving that much ājunkā besides I wanted all of it anyways. I collected everything in this game. That was like 95% of the fun for me, thatās been ruined due to terrible monetization so like I said before any new gameplay aspects will not be enough so long as there is literally nothing to get without spending way more money than I would have ever planned to spend in the first place.
i collected a lot of things too, i feel similar, that i wont be spending as much time, or worrying about collecting everything now. its just not worth it. when you have to start paying big money to collect these virtual skins and stickers and whatnot, it ruins it.
$26 is insane and then you look at other games and theyāre charging even more and that is the scariest part.
One manās trash is another manās treasure.
Maybe to you all of those things you collected were great, because you find a lot of value in that. But me? I donāt care about voice lines, that I rarely use, sprays, which I donāt use at all, or poses. I care about the skins themselves, and how cool they look.
So for me, anything that isnāt a cool looking skin is mostly trash.
There are plenty of players who feel the exact same way I do, which is why Blizzard had to change their loot box system in the first place to get rid of duplicates, because before you did get duplicates, and if you did you got Overwatch Coins of a value that matched the rarity of the duplicate item.
i like thinking of my cosmetics as ālegacy cosmeticsā and originally i wasnt going to buy anything and only stick to the old stuffā¦but i think ill just (rarely) buy the things that i think are worth it now. im not going to be spending any more than i already would have, thats for sure.
And there are plenty of others who donāt like that they canāt collect everything anymore. I would admit that there probably are not a lot of people like myself but it was still part of the fun.
OW going from a game where you theoretically could obtain everything to a game thatās all about who has more money or time will never be acceptable to me. Whether it is cosmetic based or if heroes are in the pass or not.
its like a bait and switch, for sure. luckily the smart ones have caught on, and wont be dishing out much $ or reward them for doing this.
And itās not just the battlepass that costs money, cosmetic prices are sky-high in this game, even the simplest ones. Iād rather pay US$60 dollars for Persona 5 Royal and be one and done ā you get EVERYTHING for US$60 dollars. Moreover, this is how it was for premium OW1 when it first came out.
Now, it takes US$15,000 for Kirikoās everything.
Regardless of your subjective view of price, objectively speaking, OW2 costs a fortune despite being free to play, in terms of time and cost of purchasing in the shop.
Oh, the cosmetics in the shop are too expensive for my tastes. I havenāt bought any of them.
The Battle Pass is way better value.
Tell me about it, 1000 coins for the weights souvenir and the trinket as a bundle or w/e theyāre called lol
what about that pink barbell souvenir? that things a joke, no way id pay almost 10 dollars for that crap.
