I can blame people for not joining voice chat. Communication is key in this game without a doubt. I don’t like it when anyone doesn’t join voice chat, it puts you at a disadvantage right of the bat.

Jeez, I have literally never had that issue when someone plays on current sym in voice chat. I guess we play in different regions or ranks maybe?
I think that you’re probably just a statistical anomaly that has had extreme luck.
It’s pretty obvious to me that people still continue to openly blame Symm for all team-based failures, even when playing properly (which is something that Hoshizora has noted recently as being very prominent).
It seems that whatever she contributes to the team just isn’t noticeable enough I guess.
The thrower’s at fault, obviously. I never understood why people insta-tilt at someone’s hero pick. (Unless there’s like … no tanks or healers, and said person picked a tank or healer but got no back up. That’s frustrating, but not really hero-specific.)
Sadly, I feel Symmetra is probably the hero that needs to be in voice chat the most. There are some crazy cool things the team could accomplish with that teleporter. I feel like that ability alone makes voice coms so viable. However, I do defend players’ rights about choosing whether or not to deal with voice chat. So /shrug.
Anyway, @Kris, how are you doing with the new Sym? I’m not trying to be demeaning or sarcastic or anything. I just remember you were really upset when the changes were announced, and am legitimately curious how it’s going.

At first I thought we were going to get divorced over irreconcilable differences, but I still love her. I still get potg with her. I still get golds and silvers 97% of the time (the other 3% being bronze.) I still get endgame cards. I surprised myself that I routinely get over 60% accuracy…but I was talking with my friend and we both think I just got better at aiming because I can also battle people with Mercy pistol and Sombra reliably.
But she definitely still needs work, especially to that primary fire and her survivability…in some ways Torbjorn is more survivable with his Jupiter hitbox than Sym is because he can both armor himself and duck behind his turret for cover. Tp is too slow for anything besides being a positioning tool (it also cannot be used in grav as advertised.)
At least with 2.0, your turrets were an assistive ability while YOU could do the work with BOTH fires. I really don’t like how 3.0 needs to rely on her turrets because her primary is that broken.

People like you and one or two others in this thread make me cynical about the state of humanity. You are disgusting. Blaming someone not at fault for the actions of someone else is just wrong and a sign that your parents or other guardians failed miserably at instilling a good moral code in you as a child.
If you actually believe the nonsense you are saying then you are disgusting. You are the type of person who says things like, “Who cares if that 40 year old guy raped 13 year old girls when he saw them wearing short skirts. It was their own fault for wearing clothes like that.”
But enough of your horrible excuses for the actions of the one committing bad behavior. You also asked why can’t that one trick change just once just for you. Let me explain something that you apparently either do not have the moral or the intellectual ability to understand on your own.
The “why” can’t that one trick swap “just to change for that 1 game” is that this claim never ends. EVERY single match Sym mains hear this nonsense. “Why not just change this time.” because just like you no one else considers any other match except their own as the important one. None of them care if that Sym main has just gotten out of a game where they filled some other role. None of them care that the Sym locked in first and everyone after that should be conforming to the Sym not making the Sym conform to them. After all, you all expect everyone else to conform if you lock in first with some other hero. All they care about is that there is an evil Sym messing with my win chances. Nevermind that the Sym is trying to win not lose. Nevermind that the Sym usually plays Sym better than everyone else on the team is playing their sub-optimal fill heroes.

Did i only blame 1 person or did i actually blame both of them? what is the point in me writing something which a person has already said before and will do so after me.
you make it seem as if only the 1 tricks has experienced bad situations in comp. what about the other person who threw, how do you do know that he might not have experienced bad situations in dealing and playing with 1 tricks. this game has been going on for 11 seasons, do you think 1 tricks never existed since the beginning. for every 1 good 1 trick there exist 4-10 bad 1 tricks in the game.( including genji and tracer)
or how do you not know how the other person might be on a losing streak , had other bad games, leavers and now has to play with a 1 trick he does not favour. people are already complaining of experiencing only 1 thing but nope you think every situations is black and white.

Asking him to switch that 1 game just to avoid that 1 very toxic player, avoid him and move on to the next game? so me telling him he could have taken action by simply switching, being the better person and move on makes me disgusting. yes i am so evil to give a suggestion and trying to communicate.

the why part makes me laugh so hard because what you used i have also used for the other person. essentially the why part of you all so loving speech is hypocritical when you expect me to consider how the sym player feels yet you forget that other players also have feelings.
what makes me even more laugh about the why section is that you make the assumption of me having expectation like you yourself said other players have of the sym player on certain aspects. Yet how do you know what i expect, did i say anything. i only mentioned and talked about 1 game in reaction to a person actions. i think you got something wrong because based on your assumption you would know what i am playing in comp. the question is do you know what i play?
also on a site note what did my parent ever do to you? i am still laughing as how you said how i am selfish and essentially emotional inept, yet try to call out my parents for how they raised. how dare you make any assumption while you do it yourself and even more as it is regarding real life an not a game.

My dad died when i was six months, so i never had the opportunity of him raising me. while my mum essentially had to raise me by herself all her life. i dont give damn if you disrespect me but trying to do that to my parents who you never came into contact with makes you worse than garbage.
You people act like the situation doesn’t exist where the pick isn’t working and you know it’s not working and still don’t swap. I’m sure y’all don’t have the best stats every time somebody says your pick isn’t working. I’ve seen enough lying about gold elims.

I’m going to mostly ignore the person who still thinks there is nothing wrong in blaming person A in this thread example. You have learned nothing it seems from being taken to task for your failures. Instead I will focus on someone who seems to have some sense.
Here is the thing. A pick “not working” is subjective not factual in most cases that statement is used.
I lost count of how many times I was on Sym 2.0 and had all 4 gold medals yet one of the other DPS claiming that my Sym pick was “not working” and “not enough damage”.
And I am not alone in this phenomenon of an unbadged or bronze or silver badged dps trying to claim that the Sym was not doing enough damage. I have lost count of how many streams and YT vids I have seen of Sym match footage where one of the dps made claims that the Sym pick was the “bad” one that “you are not doing any damage” even while the Sym was the one with gold damage.
Most true Sym mains know when their pick truly is not working far better it seems than the majority of the fools running around in OW. Most of us, even some of the One Tricks, will swap when we realize this without having to be prompted by anyone. Prompts by teammates to switch are rarely ever needed. Usually they aren’t even really trying to be helpful but more a case of the teammate wanting to control things.
A personal example from day before yesterday… Matchmaker gave my team of QP randoms Attack on Junkertown. I locked in first as Bastion. Other teammates then after me locked in McCree, Junkrat, Pharah, Wrecking Ball, and Brigitte. In team chat before the game even started the Brigitte stated that they were an attacker and did not plan on healing anyone. So rather than the team building around the first pick, not a single player decided to conform.
I’ll be honest here. With this kind of a team comp on my side I normally ‘would’ swap if it was comp, but I decided that if my team didn’t want to win I would use the match as a stress test for myself since I didn’t feel like being the only one on the team trying to be a good teammate and swap to assist the team.
From the get-go the lack of a shield tank and lack of healing made it almost impossible for me as Bastion. The enemy team were all focusing me first. However even with the extreme focus, lack of mobility, and complete lack of aid by my team I soon had 5 gold medals as Bastion. When I was up, the payload got pushed, the moment I died we’d stall all over again. And I died a lot due to complete failure of my team to assist me or even target the people targeting me for easy kills. So then one of the other DPS says, “Switch Bastion you are useless.” Nevermind that the only time we could push was when I was alive or that I had all 5 gold badges.
20 deaths for myself later we had the payload at the last curve. I still had all 5 gold badges. The one healer still refused to heal anyone, and the one tank still refused to actually tank. The other DPS still were failing badly yet blaming it on the “bastion ruining everything”. We were now in overtime and I alone was on the payload while the rest of my team were god only knows where. The enemy proceeded to kill me for the 21st time. And time ran out due to the fact that no one else had been trying to payload push. So the game ends in a loss… one of the DPS actually tried to claim on match chat that everyone needed to report the Bastion for throwing. Then the POTG came up and it was Bastion. Then the cards came up, 3 cards for the other team, and our only card was Bastion for 5 gold medals. Yeah, gotta love that “throwing” Bastion.
If even one of that team had actually played with me instead of doing jack all nothing we might have won that. Instead they all were trying to blame it on the Bastion and claim that the pick was not working, even though I was the only pick that actually ‘was’ working.
I’m also trying to address the people who know it’s not working and lie about it. I think there’s this perception that just because you’re not the one playing Sym, you have no idea what’s going on. You get the people fairly often not just Sym maybe a Genji or soldier who’s pick isn’t working and they know but use the I have golds excuse without golds etc.
IMO, it’s even worse. Because, from a analytical point of view, “swap X” isn’t a good call.
If someone is on Junkrat, and enemy Pharah is getting uncontested kills north and south, screaming “swap Junkrat” don’t solve the main problem, because if Junkrat just swap into another hero that can’t deal with Pharah, the problem will persist.
“Focus Pharah” solve the problem. If then, Junkrat says “I can’t kill Pharah on Junkrat”, that’s when you ask if he can switch to a hitscan. Because the reason you gave up is that your team can’t do anything if Pharah remain uncontested.
The other good thing on “Focus Pharah” is that if your team already have someone that can deal with Pharah, you are instantly turning their attention on the issue. If your team have a Widowmaker, then Junkrat can keep doing his job in the ground while Widow splat the fly. Or Zenyatta can discord Pharah so it’s easier to take her down. Or D.va can focus in harassing her a bit more.
And if no one in the team can deal with Pharah at all (eg, a team of Junkrat, Doomfist, Reinhardt, Zarya, Brigitte, Mercy), then it’s on everyone’s fault that Pharah is running amok. You can throw your blame on Junkrat for not swapping to kill her, but he is not the only one at fault there.
Tl;dr: Stop using “just swap already” as a callout.
