Overwatch Dev Update: Closed Beta (SUS)

There was a beta or alpha for PvE and they were probably doing internal PvP testing of some kind.

For something that was announced 3 to 4 years ago…

Yeah that was certainly a premature announcement. Some of that can be blamed on covid but not all of it.

If you think about Echo DPS release 4 months later…

Really starts the abuse to Support Debate

These are all the reworks an new heroes in rhe game!

resending this just because

For Sojourn talk

I’m not sure what that means. For Echo, it may have been smarter for them to just give her a new ult and keep her in support. Not sure really.

they did say there will be new heroes for every role. could wrong but most people think the fox girl seems like a support

But then again…

new heroes, new maps

If I interpreted the wording between the social posts and the community update video correctly- opting into the beta may not get you into the April beta, but may enable you access to later ones where other heroes are planned to be introduced. I believe he even directly said another/more heroes will be introduced to test later in the year.

THAT SAID: I believe they SHOULD clearly outline that April’s beta will only include Sojourn as a new addition because it otherwise could be misinterpreted.

Not really, since it’s just stuff that been on hold for the last 3 to 4 years.

If it was really new…

They would have announced new heroes

But that might be on hold for longer…

Seeing how they keep using the word Heroes incorrectly.

(Another thing to blame the marketing team for messing up.)

Until they actually show new heroes I’m going to assume there is only one. “Heroes” could just be PR speak for existing heroes reworked into different roles. Basically like saying Symmetra is a new hero for the DPS role.

Only Sojourn? How about a Support hero, it’s been three years…

They didn’t just add another dps :woman_facepalming:

Longer because Bapt was release 4 years ago this month

We kind of already knew that Sojourn would be a Damage hero based on her gameplay and model (she is quite slim and had no healing ability).

What’s strange is that we don’t even have concept art teased of new Support or Tank heroes? In 3+ years, not a single shred of concept art to at least tease what a new Support or Tank could look like…

Baptiste was released on the 19th of March, 2019, which was almost exactly 3 years ago.

[NOW PLAYABLE] Baptiste | Overwatch

and this is why the never show anything, they share and people complain.

thanks for constantly sandbagging those of us that are hopeful.

To be fair, 2020 aged everything by 5.

If they didn’t backstabbed us in the past. We would likely be more agreeable.

But they keep making us wasting our time and give out empty cups for a limited time.

Honestly it’s no Suprise about Supports. They might not understand the concept.

Arg… I need to rest.

That’s kind of what happens when you ghost your community for long periods of time.

Sure, back when games like TF2 existed, people were fine with that, but (unfortunately) this is a new era of gaming.

This company has always been “retro,” but I think that’s starting to hinder them more than help them?
