Iād consider someone 70+ to be old, 40-60 is middle age and anything below is young

The SR determines your rank which you get if you play the competitive play mode rather than Quick Play. Generally, people take it more seriously, try and build proper teams etc, especially if you use the new form a group system. Then everyone picks the role they want, communicates over the mics and the games tend to be a bit more even. Quick play is fun too but it can get chaotic as people come and go and experiment with new characters. The hardest of all modes however is arcade especially death match because they group people of all abilities together and it isnāt uncommon to find yourself battling it out with GM Tracers. In those games I just run around as Lucio trying not to die.

im from 76 myself and if thereās ever a chance we could team up and have some fun as old farts, iād be really happy to join 
my reaction time isnt what it used to be in my 20ās, but i grew up on FPSās. Doom, Quake series, UT, CoD, ET. I played them all. So iād say my reaction time is āabove averageā for my age. I play a lot of Junkrat, Zarya, Sombra and a few healers like Lucio, Moira and Brigitte.
I tend to play a lot on strategy. Especially with Junkrat. I always try to figure out movement on the enemy team and try to direct my grenades in that direction. Or i try to create space for my team by denying them space by spamming my nades into a certain area. But i am still fast enough to mine a genji in the face

Iām a young buck at 18. My reaction time in Overwatch is considerably better than in other games because Overwatch is more predictable so thereās less actual reacting happening.
Iām an ADHD crack monkey so I do best on heroes that require fast thinking and quick mechanical skills like Tracer, Genji, and Doomfist. The predictable movements of people make flicking heroes easy as well like Hanzo, Widow, and McCree. I play a mix of all these heroes at any given time.

Most of the people I play with are younger or significantly younger than I am, so this thread is a nice reminder that Iām not alone playing age-wise.

I qualify as āolderā apparently and Iāve been playing for a couple of years now. I like playing mainly tanks and support. My hit scan aim was never great (and unlike fine wine it hasnāt improved with age).

i tried a few competitive plays.My first match i did i noticed off the bat how people and the other teams worked together very wellā¦we kinda got destroyed in round 1 but in round 2 and 3 we came back and jsut rolled them hardā¦i had to use orisa for those last few.Rest of the comp mode took about 2 or 3 losses but still was fun.
Had one guy saying he was pulling the teamā¦he was gold blah blah blahā¦yeah gold alrightā¦fools gold.But even so it was still fun!

Iām 42. Reaction times are as good as ever. Lucio, 76, Sym, Zar, Moira, Rein, and sometimes Sombra. Game is always fun but I would love for Capture the Flag and Total Mayhem to be perm on the arcade.

I am getting old, but I saw that Cristiano Ronaldo managed to command a ā¬100 transfer this summer at 33, so I am not quite ready to throw in the towel in my quest to hit masters one day!

My twitch reflexes have never been good and with the onset of premature arthritis on my fingers, hands, wrists and shoulders, it definitely is not helping. Neither is having failing eyesight.
I have always steered clear of twitch based games, especially FPS back when we were younger. So while i was aware of Doom, Quake (Duke Nuke āEm!) et al, i never bothered. I was way more steeped into cRPGs especially the isometric ones which required tactical planning. So, OW is really a huge departure for me especially since i only ever played one āpureā FPS. I did complete all the Borderlands games and they are not true FPS and OW mimics Borderlandsā game play quite a bit although it lacks the exquisite humour.
YES! It would be great for a group comprising of us older gamers.

Unfortunately, i am from Singapore and i have tried to play with at least 3 forumers who had been kind enough to add / accept me on our Friends List. The latency is horrible for you guys from the U.S. it appears. I would always be on a constant 18-20ms but on the U.S. side, it is ~200ms. Yes, we are all on the Americas servers.
When i logged in earlier, i asked in General Chat if any one is from the U.S. and i had a few replies but when i went in to Competitive Mode, i asked in 3 separate games and no one replied that they were.

40 and Female. Had Nintendos when I was much younger but didnāt really get into gaming until a friend wanted me to play Borderlands with him. I have incredibly bad hand-eye coordination and that poor man suffered so many hoursā¦ LOL
My aim has gotten slightly better after thousands of hours of Borderlands 2 though. 
I still donāt have great hand-eye coordination, so Iāll never be good at Widow or similar characters. I do enjoy Symmetra, Orisa, Dva, Soldier, Zenā¦

Iām 42 and play Mercy, Lucio, and Zen mostly. Itās reassuring that itās not that abnormal for someone my age to play lots of OW.

Can you talk to my dad a bit? Hes 55 now and āplansā to take a jab at gaming some day. I would love to play few games with him every now and then, looks like it is fun every now and then.
Also, its super nice and cool that you play games and dont go down the āVideo games are bad and the only cause of violence in the world, back in my days we were going out and play football/soccer (dunno where you from, I mean the game where you kick the ball with out feet and get panalized for using your hands, āFuĆballā in german)!ā

Oh my goodness! So many people! Im 19 and I think playing with people like you would be the ultimate experience in this game.
I feel like there would be a lot more discussions on how to outsmart the enemy team, like, more tactics instead of āYou bad, I report uā
