OCE players ending up on SEA servers

can confirm this is still happening as of 10:00pm ACST

Yep, still happening here too! For months nowā€¦ this is beyond a jokeā€¦ Iā€™m so frustrated with the game Iā€™ve deleted it and Iā€™m walking away for goodā€¦ blizzard have had plenty of time to fix this and they havenā€™t even acknowledged the issue. They donā€™t careā€¦
I havenā€™t been able to play ranked for almost two seasons now. I wasnā€™t able to finish last seasons battle pass because I didnā€™t want to put up with an broken gameā€¦ And I get suspended for leaving quick play games because theyā€™re unplayable with the 130-150 ping. Everything about this game right now is anti Australia/New Zealand in terms of playability (Xbox here if anyone from blizzard is readingā€¦ might save the loss of another long time player if you decide to address the issue)

Itā€™s happening again! Something in the latest update meant that we end up with entire lobbies of OCE players in Singapore serversā€¦if the game actually connects. Would be nice for Blizzard to acknowledge this is an issue, since the start of Ow2. Not holding any hope though.

90% of OCE players are having this issue and yet that still is-ant enough for blizz to action this
. Instead we are being told its most likely an ISP issue not a blizz problem so yeah on behalf of all OCE players I sincerely apologize to blizz for having such substandard ISP we will do better next time. :face_with_monocle:

Issue popped up again. Commenting to help gain traction.
Unable to play on Aus servers from NZ for 24 hours now. Only Singapore or at least servers with 150+ Ping

Still happening today.

This is still an issue Blizzard, for about 2 full days OCE servers are down yet some times i can play in Practice Range on 40ms but on Matchmaking im getting 130-250ms which is not a competitive environment at all. FIX YOUR SERVERS BLIZZARD

I still canā€™t join a server with sub 130 ping

Honestly impressed that you can get into practice range on OCE servers, I havenā€™t even gotten that in days, and not from a lack of trying.

Terrible latency, around 133ms whatā€™s going on Blizzard where are the local servers I used to have?
Is the money well invested?

I can read:
Activision Blizzard net income/loss for the quarter ending March 31, 2023 was $0.740B, a 87.34% increase year-over-year.
source:macrotrends.net

Whatā€™s going on? can we just play and enjoy the game?

Yes the 100-120ms ping servers are SEA (Singapore).

The Australian servers (SYD2) are ā€œonlineā€ with a ping of 1000ms (using gigabit internet from Sydney) which is why we are placed into SEA servers as they are the lowest ping.

On the PC version of OW whilst in a game if you push (ā€œSHIFTā€+ā€œCTRLā€+ā€œNā€) you will see network information on your screen including the current server.

It seems like no game company cares about Aus players.

We usually get half-assed attempts at giving us appropriate servers most of the time. This is weird from a business perspective considering a high % of people in Aus play video games combined with our higher net income compared to other countries.

Error occurring once again. Commenting to provide visibility/raise awareness.

There is a reddit post in the Overwatch 2 sub from May which details this post + ACCC follow up page. Hopefully we can get some eyes onto this issue to rectify it.

Since Blizzard seemingly wonā€™t acknowledge or address this issue, you can force the matchmaker to reject singapore server IPs by blocking them on your own machine.

Enter the following commands into command prompt to add the following singapore servers to your block list:

netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name="BlizzBlock1" protocol=any dir=out action=block remoteip=34.126.73.81
netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name="BlizzBlock2" protocol=any dir=out action=block remoteip=35.185.188.84
netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name="BlizzBlock3" protocol=any dir=out action=block remoteip=35.198.225.188
netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name="BlizzBlock4" protocol=any dir=out action=block remoteip=35.240.184.88

Seems to have worked for me so far. Iā€™m being put into SYD1 and SYD2 much more often.

I did this too, but I want to play comp.

Itā€™s ridiculous that this is going on without being acknowledged. Hell, I canā€™t even go into the practise range without being routed onto the gsg1 server.

Imagine if this company wasnā€™t a small indie phone game company. They had this solved a long time ago. Hire some people, stop paying huge salaries to those chickpea brain white collars ā€œjobsā€ that only decides to fā€¦ up the products and company.

Or do we need to pre order a new ow3 version and get scammed once again?

1 Month 2 days and counting

I just requested a refund on this seasonā€™s battlepass.

Everytime I log in to play and get gsg1, I just alt+f4 as I consider 140ms unplayable for a first person shooter.

Itā€™s unlikely I will complete the battlepass due to this. This issue happened occasionally when the season first launched. This past week, however, I have only had a single game NOT be on gsg1 out of a dozen attempts.

If I am denied a refund Iā€™ll plead my case to the ACCC.

Even in off peak itā€™s still happening. :frowning:

To be fair off peak has been worstā€¦ Even using Mina to select only OCE, it keeps not finding servers, feels like they shut down 90% of the Australians servers.

Let us know if you get the refund granted, maybe if more players do that they will start to work on something.
