A lot of the things posted recently have been saying that there is a problem with no clear indication of a major problem in the winMTRs. We do see an odd latency bump in chicago so are trying to get tests demonstrating this now. Without knowing exactly how high your latency and latency spikes are, we can’t compare with the WinMTRs you’re posting to find out what’s a LAN issue and what is related to the issue we’re investigating.
ISP: Shaw and Hurricane Electric:
Province/territory: Winnipeg, MB
Behavior: 30ms latency between two Blizzard routers at Chicago Equinix on Shaw, similar trace via HE takes different routers at Chicago Equinix which do not have the latency.
I cannot give you a WINMTR result, but I can provide a very similar result from the MTR traceroute feature on the routers that I am managing. The 30ms difference is quite visible in the Shaw, whereas the HE result is fine, but it is a different pair of routers, and the problem seems to be happening in Chicago within Blizzard’s network:

However I’m not sure why you are getting the string of “no response from host” at the end of your WinMTR. Although it is OK to get a few of those and then get to the final destination, it should not give “No response from host” all the way to the end - that suggests the reply is getting blocked at some point by a firewall or ACL somewhere.
Are you on a wireless or wired connection when you are running WinMTR? It looks to me based on the WinMTR result like your problems might be closer to the source (either wireless interference or a router problem or a local Bell problem) rather than the problems described in this thread. Your latency to 10.11.1.105 goes up to 122 at one point, which is a huge amount of latency to simply get to your gateway at Bell - must either be wireless interference (if you are on wireless) or a router problem or Bell problem causing that.

I am using wireless. I have been playing OW for much over a year and it had never given me a problem until around a month ago.
Your first WinMTR:
shows a spike of 223ms going to your own router. That means there is almost certainly wireless interference. As long as that is happening, it is hard to tell the difference between latency caused by your wireless and latency somewhere else. You need to get connected with a cable or get your wireless interference issue sorted.
You have fixed something. The latency spikes in Chicago are gone for me. Ping times are great now (24ms from Winnipeg on Shaw).

I’m seeing 50ms of latency being added in Blizzard’s section of the route (137.221.73.33 -> 137.221.65.40 -> 137.221.65.6). I’m also intermittently experiencing huge latency, greater than 1000ms reported in game lasting for 10-15 seconds at a time. I was also DC’d from a competitive match yesterday and was given a 30 minute suspension from competitive as a result.

Hey all,
Shaw Customers - We identified some issues with our route with Shaw causing suboptimal latency and worked with Shaw to resolve them. Anybody on Shaw or Shaw partners still having trouble?
Bell Customers - I got enough tests from Bell so we’re giving Bell another look. I’ll keep you all updated on that.
Other ISPs - I don’t have enough data from you yet. Are any other Canadian players having similar issues?
