New Hanzo abilities make him a McCree?

Great, yet another long range sniper with escapability. Just what the game needs.

Not at all.

McCree primary is hitscan and can be fired 2 per second. Hanzo has to charge arrows.

McCree right click just spams out his remaining ammo (not reliable outside of point blank). Hanzo Volley sounds like you’ll actually be able to aim shots and be useful at mid range.

McCree Roll is mostly a quick reload, and sometimes a quick dodge. Hanzo double jump sounds like a legitimate escape tool paired with his wall climb.

I really don’t see Hanzo taking McCree’s spot at all.

What will this “horizontal movement ability” binded to? everything else is taken up

Reaper does 280 DPS/s (not including headshots) to tanks without using abilities.

The problem with scatter arrow wasn’t the “DPS” it was the instant damage. This rapid fire ability is not instantaneous and therefore doesn’t have the same problem scatter does. Good tanks will turn on their defensive abilities after the first rapid fire is shot.

I love this idea. Makes him more reliable even though scatter is removed.

This is a bit concerning to hear actually. If his arrows travel faster, and retain their current hitbox size, he will just be an outright better version of Widowmaker… Shoots faster while also moving faster while charging arrows, more forgiving shots, great at close, mid and long range, two mobility abilities, an actual damaging ultimate. He won’t just be on par with Widowmaker, he will just be a x2 times better Widowmaker.

The main advantage of Widow over Hanzo is that she is hitscan.
If that’s gone, and Hanzo gets a better kit, Widow becomes kind of obsolete.

The thing is that Hanzo is a sniper and has no dlashbang grenade that Stuns enemy’s for him. I don’t think that any DPS would stand stil while being hit by a few arrows.

As someone who loves Hanzo’s base-arrow-traveltime a lot, this worries me.
The thing that makes Hanzo fun, ís the traveltime of his arrow.
It takes a while to get used to that while mastering him, but as soon as you get used to it, you can put it to your advantage. (by quickly hiding/peeking for instance)

I’m actually a person who plays Hanzo a lot, who lóves the idea of making him more mobile, and agrees to remove his scatter. As you increase his mobility, I don’t think it’s bad for him to stay a somewhat medium range ‘‘sniper’’. His arrows are reliable enough as it is.
He does not have match up to Widow or McCree range and speed-wise.

But, it still sounds like FTH and Roll. He still has a surge of fire, he still goes to the side quickly.

Its like saying that Ryus and Deadpools shoryuken are waaaaay different because they fly on different hights. They are both shoryukens!

Im still confused as to why you guys didnt used that lighting (taser) arrow, various traps, anything to give him utility. Im all for the deletion of scatter in exchange for utility. It would make him not have to fight for a place with Widowmaker or McCree/Soldier 76.

Volley sounds “meh”. I dont think he needs the extra movement.

i’m pretty sure that shooting a volley of arrows isn’t the same as that.

also, you’re comparing a Roll to a Leap

A leap that does exatly the same thing as the roll.

You mean a much better McCree.

Right click for McCree sucks and roll sucks too.

I bet Hanzos new jump will have a shorter cooldown than roll too.

I’d love to able to shot behind an Orisa’s shield by shooting at a wall just like I do now with the Scatter
