At this point everyone who calls it a lock-on is ret@rded.
Way to completely miss the point of the entire thread.
What âpointâ did I miss. OP is saying that Moiraâs beam is a lock on, psycho Moira mains who got triggered by the idea that something might be wrong with her freaked out and âcorrectedâ them.
I pointed out that it doesnât matter either way, sheâs a busted hero for most of the player base and the Moira mains know it.
So what âpointâ did I miss?
Words matter. People should say what they mean. If they are saying the wrong thing, then they should be corrected.
The truth is that yes, the beam has a generous hit box.
It is also disingenuous do use the term lock on because in game design, it means something different than what is going on with Moirâs beam.
And if you know what is going on with her beam, you can learn how to make it more difficult for the Moira to use it consistently.
Itâs an animated lock on, her biotic grasp actually functions like Zarya or Symâs beam.
False,
The lock on can be fooled by a Junkrat Trap.
This can be tested and proven with a video.
Donât ask me to do it, Iâm sick and tired of arguing with Moira mains and others who donât understand the basic fundamental mechanics of the game.
Then they try to use Sombra hack as an example of lock on when sombra hack uses the exact same mechanic as moira beam.
The only difference is Sombra hack can only target characters, and NPC objects like Torb Turret and Health packs. Health packs are notorious for interfering with our hack when our intended target is the player we are fighting against and not the health pack.
Her hack is affected by line of sight JUST LIKE Moiraâs right click with Junkrat Traps.
Itâs a tactic I use against Moira when I play Junkrat.
No it doesnât.
There is no factual evidence what so ever that supports that.
In fact I made a video that proves that assumption wrong.
Why do Moira mains say itâs not lock on?
Because Moira cannot turn 180 degrees and remain locked on like Mercyâs beams.
Guess what, Sombra cannot do that either, in which case by their own logic Sombra hack is also not lock on.
Which is BS and even we sombra mains know her hack is lock on.
That you think anyone here is discussing this:
In fact BTC made a video contradicting your own.
The truth of the matter is the animation breaks the minute she pulls away from the hitbox. Moira has a very generous collider on her beam, that much is certain, but true lock on she does not have.
At this point itâs best to understand how the mechanic works so you can best avoid it. Moira really doesnât have the strength to tussle with the big boys anyway, so if youâre having problems with her itâs time to adapt and figure out how to deal with her better.
âiTs NoT loCk oN itS jUsT a BiG bEaMâ
Yeah sure if the beam was the size of half your screen
Iâm allowed to share my thoughts on the forum buddy. I donât care if you donât agree, but the idea that Iâm talking about a different topic entirely is just⌠stupid.
I was in this camp for a long time but someone did point something out to me that makes me question this a bit to at least say Moiraâs beam is in a separate class of itâs own. They pointed out that Moira canât destealth sombra because there is no target to essentially âhitâ or rather lock on to. Itâs weird and is the only thing that makes me question that itâs a beam with a very forgiving hit box because if that was the case she would be able to destealth sombra
Fact, this youtuber is just as wrong as Moira mains.
This video evidence does not support your claim at all.
It in fact re-enforces my claim the instant he talks about Mercy beam being lock on because she can turn 180 degrees and Moira cannot.
Guess what Sombra hack is also not lock on by your own logic.
This youtuber knows little to nothing about lock on.
Itâs the same beam as Sym1.0 but to a much smaller manageable degree.
Itâs the same mechanic Sombra hack uses, just with different dependencies.
LOS can fool Sombraâs intended hack target.
Just like Junkrat Trap can fool Moiraâs intended target beam.
If you want to talk about something unrelated then go make a new thread to whine in.
I was talking about something related. Youâre just not bright enough to follow, or youâre just another insecure troll. Dealerâs choice.
That is a possibility and if it is the case I do think we should be classifying it as lock on. At any rate Iâve always felt it was extremely easy to aim regardless just now Iâm probably a bit less sympathetic to the âitâs not a lock onâ crowd
Test it with a JR trap
Trust me,
Itâs so much fun watching moira attack the trap rather than the Junkrat.
I drop a trap in front of me on purpose when I go against Moira.
The trick is, getting in the right spot as junkrat. Terrain negotiation helps with this a lot. If you pay attention to it.
in a 1v1 situation itâs easy to exploit, but in a team fight not as easy because you still have to avoid other types of damage not just Moira.
The beam: literally BENDS in the video, following the locked enemies and dealing damage after the enemy is already out of aim.
The people: Itâs just a visual effect. Itâs not lock on.
Animation =/= mechanics
