Mercy players, other than "old mercy" what do you want?

I’ve had several ideas for rework ideas but the simplest one to impliment and balance is as follows

Valkyri: Duration reduced to 8 seconds, Chain Beams removed and passive regen remains the same as in her base mode
Her main beam has been increased to somewhere between 120 and 200 HPS and her damage beam is now 40%
A SINGLE instant cast ressurect (or double if we decide to go on the lower end of the healing for the rest of the ult) connected to the Ult button that can only be used during this 8 second duration

This would go hand in hand with a new E ability, I’ve got a few ideas but the general thing is that it needs to be either pin point timing or resource management (think Zarya bubbles or Defence Matrix for how the skill to utilize works)
A few ideas for E
Biotic Shield -50% reduction to all incoming damage for 2 seconds on target
Cleanse: removal and 2 second immunity to all negative effects and knock backs.
Overclock: a resource based power that will be toggled on and off to increase Mercy’s healing up to somewhere betwee 80 and 110 HPS (this would take tweaking depending on the uptime of this resource.)

The first two abilities if implimented would target Mercy if she has the pistol out and would have their cooldowns reduced for the duration of Valkyrie

The design philosiphy behind this is 3

  1. Get Rez off of E at all costs
  2. Slice power away from the passsive aspects of Mercy’s kit (mainly valkyrie, hence the removal of chain beams and almost halfing it’s duration.)
  3. Giving a new E ability that will actually show the difference between a bad mercy and a great Mercy while still maintaining her simple to pick up nature.

Mercy shouldn’t have any burst or AoE healing. She should be hardcapped at 60 HPS, as the tradeoff for having the most consistent healing. Just make rez an ult and put the flight from valkyrie or some other midfight ability on E.

She dosen’t need more mobility in her base kit she’s already more mobile then Tracer or Lucio
The reason she was UP before the invuln buffs was because she had no midfight potential when comparing to an actually halfway decent Ana (before she got unnecessarily gimped)
Hence her E has to be some kind of utility not necessarily healing but some other form of utility that requires skill to use properly.

The complaints about Mercy’s ult not feeeling like an ult is the fact that the rest of her kit dosen’t have any boom either as E rez feels like nothing but either a hiding simulator or a skillcheck for everyone in the match not named Mercy.

She has no bite anywhere in her kit and her on fire rate is the sympom of this.
Not really comparable to miss “I can remove all the key targets as a battle begins” Widowmaker

Not bad mouthing widow I’m just saying the problem is that Mercy as no bite anywhere, you can argue some heroes like Widow, Ana, Orisa etc have no bite in their ults but all of them have bite elsewhere in their kits.

Like I said, it doesn’t have to be flight. But preferably it’s something that she can use in tandem with rez to pull it off more safely, to justify ult rez having a cast time/no invuln.

We could do that or we could just make a single instant cast rez part of the ult to avoid this garbage cast time non sense, since instant 5 man rez warranted a UP hero I doubt a single rez ult would be OP or really bad, frustrating sure but no more frustrating then this always available rez

Insta cast rez (single target) as her ult and maybe a very short multi-heal on E.

Keep her healing as is, or hell, even have it better than what it is now, but have it require some sort of tracking to balance things out and make her more interactive overall.
This would also be an easy nerf to PharaMercy set ups that haven’t been addressed since Overwatch was released.

Then she’s just Moira.

This. I’d like to see Rez moved to maybe instant cast on her ultimate and something else done for an E ability. Something not as powerful as say Sleepdart/bionade though.

  • Resurrect to be changed into being an earnable ability which doesn’t feel as cumbersome to use
  • Valkyrie duration reduced to something like 6 to 8 seconds but instead is much more potent during that time, get rid of chain beams for a more focused beam on your beam target

or…

  • Resurrect is made part of her ultimate ability which doesn’t feel as cumbersome to use
  • Same suggestion for Valkyrie as above

The core issue right now is she has a powerful standard ability given to her freely every 30 seconds but also a weakened and diluted ultimate ability. Until the power of her standard ability (resurrect) is addressed then she’ll remain a popular hero.

This topic is going to go on for days about her rez and ultimate, when that’s clearly not the problem right now, it’s her healing output.
It should have been proven by now that changing her ultimate isn’t the way to go.

As long as rez is an ability no matter how hard they nerf her healing she will have an extremely high pickrate and other supports will be bothered to pick her. So far blizzard has outright ignored all mercy feedback and just constantly nerfed her.

This topic has been going on for months. And you’ve got it backwards. It’s her healing that’s clearly not the problem, it’s valkyrie and rez on cooldown.

Mercy has been a problem since the game released. I’ve said since day one that she has too much impact for how little effort is involved.
It’s like you kids have never played a balanced game before.

Its Res in general…

There is no balanced game all games are imbalanced to some degree. Some more than others. Maybe the most balanced game is TicTacToe. However, if you go first you can either win or draw on optimal strats. If you go second you can only ever draw or lose.

Lol, no she hasn’t. She was a throwpick in higher ranks before they added invuln to rez. Even after that, she wasn’t OP. She was never OP until the rework.

you really have to be trolling. she was NEVER a “problem” until her rework. Ana was far more troublesome for seasons 2-3-4, when they then later nerfed her into the ground… She was constantly overlooked for a healer comp like Lucio/Zenyatta until they themselves got their changes.

She was Not the problem. she’s problematic now. but not since day 1.

In higher ranks.
She was fine in low/mid ranks.
A hero with her skill level (in comparison to other healers) should be below Ana at high ranks.
