Though, of course, I wouldn’t mind seeing Mass Resurrection back. Though I guess it is too difficult to balance.
I do wonder how an Energy Vamp ability would work, like a percentage of ult charge gets sapped to grant allies ult charge? A self-sacrifice ability of sorts. Eh.

The perception they leave me with every time they change something is that they are doing this because something is popular. “We’re nerfing Mercy because everyone is playing her and ignoring the other supports.” That’s not a good enough reason.
Now, they want to change or drop Torb’s ultimate. Why? I wasn’t aware Molten Core was a bad ultimate. No explanations are forth coming though.

My main complaints are now refined to Valkyrie being boring and underwhelming.
You can really feel the difference that QoL changes and UI upgrades have made over the last 10 years, TF2 kind of suffers in that regard. Its a shame valve doesn’t really make games anymore - I can see TF3 being a hell of a game. Just a decade of optimization and UI upgrades would make all the difference.
While this could help, it opens up the can of worms that is Rez being a third of Mercy’s design identity. Removing it would require changing or outright removing several voice-lines, sprays, and at least one highlight intro. Plus makes the Rez themed statue that’s been on sale kind of pointless.
Here’s the thing… I don’t care what they do to Mercy as long as they leave her healing and mobility alone. I wouldn’t have cared if they did anything else to her, but they did.
Though, if I were to make changes… Personally, I would nerf her Damage Boost outside of Valk to 20% in order to combat GravDragon. (Then I would nerf Hanzo’s ult charge or increase the amount he needs for his ult, but that’s not what this is about). I would revert her healing to 60HPS, and straight up remove Rez. That, or I would make it earnable (1 Rez per 1k healing, also discourages battle Mercy and encourages her to be used as the consistent healer they “want” her to be).
something thats actually genuinely interesting to play again and feels rewarding more than have her be a character where i can offer to play any other healer when we’re not doing well as a team and I’m told. “Oh no stay on mercy.” she’s boring af and the issue is even tho she’s not OPAF anymore she’s still overpowered in that rez is fundamentally broken as an ability.
Mercy’s only actual downside rn is that she’s a chore to play. her upsides include the best heals in the game coupled with a free rez every 30 seconds which makes for suuuch bad gameplay ie. Pocketing. For every person who can think of a Hide and Rez mercy a mercy pocketing a hero thats wrecking is actually far more feasible and annoying. if a mercy pocketed before she’d have to waste her ultimate and earn her own teams ire. nowadays its easy and i personally dont think its good gameplay either.
At this point I don’t even care what they do as long as they don’t touch GA. If they’re determined to keep rez (which I would prefer since it’s her identifying trait) it needs to be restricted to her ultimate. A single rez during Valk with instant cast would be all I ask for, at least you’d have to go back to seriously thinking before using it. And it should be instant cast because her entire kit is about mobility and that’s why I play her. However, I wouldn’t care at this point if they removed rez because anything would feel better than this BS we have now.
Replace Rez and ult, they’re painful to use at this point with how the ult is on an E ability and the E ability is on the ultimate. Not to mention current Rez ruins the flow of her gameplay and Valk is probably the laziest ultimate design at the moment.
People arent just upset with her healing nerf, they’re upset because of the re-work that happened 9 months ago. Massive Mercy players and fans (including myself) are angry with how Blizzard is approaching the issue with her. Thats why everyone just’s wants her to be reverted. It would be the easiest and best solution in alot of peoples eyes.
If that’s actually the case, I’d like to the staff to clearly define what they consider to be gameplay issues why it occurred in the first place and how they plan to avoid it in the future and at the present.
In my view, beam based healers like TF2’s Medic worked because the absolute basics of the character might be a bit on the bland side but, the kit also has an ability that is very special.
The thing is, that somewhat challenging to do when you have a boatload of massively powerful abilities already in the game and an unclear definition of what exactly counts as a gameplay issue. The game has many abilities already that do not necessarily provide for “good gameplay”.
Bring back the 60 HPS (in other words, revert), put rez exclusive to Valk, make it instant cast, GG. Maybe increase the charge rate a bit to compensate or allow her to have both beams at the same time if they keep the charge rate the same. A lot of Mercy complain about Valk not feeling like a real ultimate. They never played Widow, but still, I doubt they get much out of it unless they whip out their pistol which is what I do.
