Hi all, so i’ve been playing Mercy since season 1. I love Mercy! And I still play her to this day. How are we feeling about a Mercy buff? I see it as a problem if Mercy can barely out heal a Winston tickle beam, and I think a ton of people agree with me in that sense.
I can already see the hate that I may get from this post, but i’m ready for it… lol.
Mercy is a low skill hero, no one is denying that. But the point of Overwatch is to be competitive, there is a HUGE difference between a GM Mercy and a Gold Mercy, hands down, why punish the vast majority of the player base (Also Mercy is the top picked hero in history for Overwatch) purely because they aren’t as mechanically skilled as others?
Riddle me this for a second, would a Mercy Revert really be that bad? Mercy was changed purely because people didn’t like playing against her, which is fair, but people don’t like playing against Zen, or Lucio because of the same issue, they can negate a whole stream of ultimate’s with one press of the Q button.
Isn’t it the same idea? No one likes to play against Sombra, especially now with the infinite invisibility. No one likes to play against Doomfist with his one punch one kill ability. I think what has gone wrong here, is the pro’s spoke about Mercy and blizzard obeyed their commands. Blizzard is infamous for catering to a minority of players, even with World Of Warcraft.
Mercy is a throw pick, if I play Mercy, people automatically throw my games, it’s awful.
Why nerf a hero to the ground because your golden boys asked for it? It’s sad, and honestly makes Blizzard as a company look silly.
On to the second part, Mercy Meta. With Ana’s buff, and Moira introduced, why is it so bad to have Mercy being on par with them? Her kit is already awful, make her healing on par with the other supports Blizzard.
If you keep going at the rate you are going, obeying your golden boys requests, your game will surely die, catering to a minority group of players is the reason the numbers of Overwatch are decaying. The vast majority of your player base is lower ranked scrubs that are just trying to have fun, Mercy was never ‘‘fun’’ to me, but she was impactful which made her rewarding to play.
That’s all. Who am I kidding though? They won’t stop catering to their golden boys until the game is long gone and they have to look back at what went wrong… Lol
I believe that if someone spends some time observing really high level Mercy play, they will tend to change their minds on how well skill expresses itself in the hands of a very skillful Mercy player
Personally, I think her kit is very, very good - and many others do as well
When I play Mercy with another healer (any healer) on my team, I almost always get gold healing.
As such, I see her healing as already being on par with the best healers in the game…no changes are needed to “make” it in par
Exactly, I have been throughout all of the ranks, and i’ve seen a ton of top 500 mercy players, it’s completely different depending on ranking. The problem is, again, the golden boys spoke, and they broke the one hero that everyone loves. It’s silly.
Mercy’s kit is odd. It’s a mish mash. The problem with Mercy Rez is the fact that it ultimately takes 2 people out of the fight for 2 seconds. The Mercy, and the target that she’s rezzing. High skilled players take advantage of these 2 seconds all the time.
Pretty sure that wasnt their reasoning. Sure people didnt like playing into it, but blizz didnt like the hide and seek playstyle it created. They didnt like the idea of someone sitting outside of the fights, just waiting for some of their teammates to die aftet the enemy used ults, to come in and press Q.
And how is this any different from Zen/Lucio? Oh I got a grave and dragon combo, oh never mind they used Zen ult and now it’s useless thanks for the great game blizz. Now you have to farm Grav and Dragons again.
In my opinion, the Mercy who is rezzing in midfight is very much a part of the fight, choosing as her current battle tactic to restore a valuable teammate to the fight rather than use other options available to her at that time
Factually, the target of a rez is not being taken out of the fight by rez…that person is already out of the fight due to dying…
Thank you Val! I haven’t seen this, I don’t follow the forums much. I just want opinions. I need to say this, Mercy mass rez was awful, I hated playing AS THE MERCY. Hiding out of the fight? It’s almost as bad as pocketing a pharah the whole game, it’s not fun.
Right, what i’m saying is essentially you’ve lost 2 players in the middle of a team fight for 2 seconds. The player dies, Mercy goes in for a rez, you’re down a main support and a DPS (Or whatever target the mercy is rezzing at that time. It’s punished hard in high elos.
Lúcio and Zen’s ults can negate a few ultimates, not completely undo up to 6.
Lúcio’s soundbarrier sucks against duration ultimates like Attack Visor, High Noon, Coalescence, Whole Hog, EMP, Dragonstrike, et cetera. And it can only really tank one ultimate before degrading to nothing (or the enemy can just wait for it to wear off)
While Zenyatta’s ultimate sucks against burst damage like Rocket Barrage, Widowmaker, Hanzo, Self-Destruct, Tank Mode, Rein Charge, et cetera.

Did you not watch the video Overwatch released when Mercy got her rework? ‘‘She’s not fun to play against’’ Exact quote. And Mercy is Viable??? When? Where? If i’m playing Mercy it’s a blame game. ‘‘Can you switch to Ana??’’ It’s much like Moira, if you’re playing Moira in any rank above Plat it’s a blame the support fiesta. Thanks for your reply tho!
