Give me ONE solid reason WHY Mercy shouldn't be changed

  1. she couldn’t be an off healer because how much they heal has little to do with whether they are main or off healers.
  2. There are more important balance issues at the moment. We have 6 healers at the moment and 5 are in a pretty good place atm. comparatively, we have 7 tanks and only 3 are in a good place. we have 15 damage heroes, 4 of them are troll picks, 4 of them are in a bad place, and 1 is solidly OP, that’s half the damage roster that’s out of balance. Mercy can stay where she is for a time and the dev team should focus on the rest of the roster, who have largely been ignored while the support roster has been given all the attention.

That’s my opinion I guess. I mean if you completely removed Rez, sure she would be extremely underpowered. With Rez, she’s sub par. It’s harder to even pull of a Rez now because you need to focus more on healing than you ever had to before.
Except before the 60HPS buff, oop

rework her again and more mercy players will disagree with each other

when do you stop reworking? when everyone is satisfied or when she is balanced?

balance is most important imo but many mercy players disagree and think fun is more important which is very subjective

I have a reason, because she does not take skill. Clearly the developers agree. I, personally, find that reasoning to be utterly absurd and blatantly false. However, I would argue that if they are content with a pure healer nearly being an off-healer, their goal is definitely to keep her barely viable.

When she’s able to do what she was meant to do in the first place. Mercy mains are getting pretty desperate, and would take pretty much anything over this rework.

what mercy was supposed to do in the first place can be changed because the devs created her in the first place

i don’t see that as a good reason

At least having a large amount of skill with Sombra can still make her impactful. Mercy’s flat, low heal rate makes being a better healer almost impossible, regardless of player skill.

That’s still what they’re currently saying is her purpose, anyway. If we were to try to figure out her purpose currently, it would be extremely hard to pinpoint.

Her skill ceiling definitely dropped, that’s for sure. I actually want to see Mercy require more skill. Give her back her 60HPS, and give her and ultimate/E ability that really get the playing thinking about risk and reward. That’s always sort of been my favorite thing about Mercy… Weighing options instead of blindly healing.

she is mobile, single target healer

her healing cannot be blocked and she heals consistently. makes her great with pharah, snipers, mccree, zenyatta, winston etc

i would slightly buff her damage boost or increase her healing range for example but other than that i think she is close to being balanced right now

So balanced that she has by far the worst stats of all healers currently and is subpar even in Bronze.

No, she is not a single target healer. That weakness was removed when they reworked her.

If you nerf her damage boost, Valkyrie suddenly becomes 100x worse. Bad balance decision imo. I don’t understand how her damage boost is in any way overpowered, especially with its current usage.

I have a very hard believing my opinion would matter at all though. Most Mercy players on the forums who are vocal about Mercy have pretty much made it clear they will never change their opinion or care about something that doesn’t match with it.

What’s your opinion? Honestly I like to think that I’m slightly different. I’m willing to sway so long as there is enough logic or evidence behind a claim, just like any other normal human being.

I’m sorry, but I’m going to have to disagree with you. She was underpowered with mass Resurrect before invulnerability. Her F-tier pickrate in pro play and nickname; “Suicide Res” says this much. After invulnerability, she became remotely viable. That being said, Ana was way better than her simply because of Ana’s Burst heals and utility. Remember, pre-reworked Mercy didn’t have an e ability.

Honestly after looking into it, I don’t have any numbers so please bear with me or feel free to prove me wrong, Mercy was close to a must pick. She became a bit too good after they added invuln.

yeah i mean her normal kit not her ultimate

im talking about buffing it not nerfing damage boost

You mean, her pickrate that stayed the same for the majority of her existence before her rework? Yeah, that’s because of 3 things. Appeal towards new players, aesthetics and the fact that she was the only pure, main healer besides Ana at the time. Using your pickrate logic, I can say that Reinhardt is OP at the moment. I mean, he has the highest pickrate in the game.

Apologies if your argument doesn’t involve pickrates.

Oh, oops… Sorry, I must have misread. Yeah, buffing her damage boost outside of her ultimate is a pretty bad idea. It would definitely become a bit too powerful at that point.

Shhh, quiet you Mercy main, you just dont know what youre talking about.

Shes so balanced that no one likes to pick her anymore, like thats the perfect balance, even her stats say so. Shes so balanced that she let others healers (who by the way do more than healing but Mercy herself is basically the only pure healer), have higher healing.

A pure healer having less healing than other healers who arent pure healers, its just so AMAZING, Mercy is even so kind to the other supports that she knows shes balanced and letting them go ahead of her.

People are so amazed by her being balanced that its not worth picking her, its amazing like believe me I know, I stopped playing her among all supports.

Completely balanced. /s
