5man rez would be even harder to pull off, that would make her a high-risk, high-reward hero.
In my version of Mercy’s kit I added a 30% damage reduction for 2 seconds after successfully casting Resurrect.
moira is aoe healer which has her niche, her healing numbers are gonna be higher depending the composition
if the team is playing widowmaker, genji, dva, zen, orisa i wouldn’t want a moira on my team
Majority who say “mercy is balanced” are just glad she’s a dead hero who has no impact and isn’t enjoyable for a majority of her players
Actually, that’s untrue. She may be most picked, but Moira does more healing from Gold upwards, Lucio almost does more healing than Mercy in Bronze, and silver Lucio is only 500 healing behind, and Moira is only 400 healing behind Mercy.
Personally, I believe that she should be changed however, I can provide reasons why people might believe she shouldn’t:
From a balance perspective:
With a few blips going the other direction the power of supports has gradually creeped forward for much of the games existence. Moving the rest of the supports down to Mercy’s level would help roll back the clock on the creep slightly. Portions of what make Mercy so disappointing is that other characters can match her and do more. I can heal as much as I can on Mercy or more on Lucio while also tossing barriers that counter some ults, speed boosting from time to time, and killing things that’s more fun for me than the occasional res by a long shot.
From a fun perspective:
You do actually have a sizeable number of players that do like the current rework. (No, I’m not talking about a few of the users that incessantly post on forums about not wanting to change things that tend to have less than 20 wins on Mercy since the rework.) Mercy’s pick rate in QP is still #5 @ 5.44% on PC and it’s higher on console. While I’m sure some of the people primarily like her for looks for a fair number it’s probably actually for gameplay. Reworking her now is doing the same thing the initial rework did of ripping away a character people like out of complaints from people that dislike the character.
From a time perspective:
It’s been a year since the initial re-work and the characters in game have shifted significantly along with new additions. Many of the ideas and expectations people have about Mercy may not align with what would actually happen at this point.
From a development perspective:
The development team has likely been working on this version of Mercy for well over a year and they’ve had more than 100,000 posts of feedback. It’s entirely possible that if they toss something together quickly they can actually do worse.
moira has always healed more than mercy
healing numbers means nothing without context
Because it’s okay for Mercy not to be the go-to meta for some time. The meta should change once in a while. If Mercy isn’t viable in 3 months from now, then it’s more than reasonable to ask for her to get buffed.
It’s okay for Ana to be the best pick at the moment, there will always be better picks. Mercy should just never descend to the point where she’s considered a bad pick (like how Ana was prior to all her recent buffs).
Mercy is the most consistent healer in the game.
-
Mercy heals 750 health over 15 seconds
-
with 14 shots Ana (with a 60% shot accuracy) heals 630
-
Moira has a resource and completely empties it in 9 seconds (according to the Overwatch wiki)
Moira heals 560
now lets take these numbera and apply them to a standard game.
-
(ruffly 10 min)
-
(ana shooting 500 shots with a 60% accuracy)
-
(moira recharges fully using secondary fire after completely drain resource(secondary fire replenishes 10 biotic energy per second which is the same as the fire rate for healing))
-
Mercy total heal 30,000
-
Ana total healing 22,500
-
Moira total healing 18,667
Not to mention her survivability.
- Mercy has a dash every 2 seconds
- Ana has no movement abilities
- Moira has a dash every 6 seconds.
Now lets look at ults healing wise
-
Mercy ult heals for 50 hp per second per target for 15 sec seconds for a total of 3750 hp for 5 targets (plus self healing for 20hps so that 300 self healing as well)
-
ana ult heals for 300 burst
-
Moira ult heals for 140 hp per second for 8 seconds for a total of 1120 hp (plus self healing for 50 hps so that 400 self healing)
If this helps you understand why mercy isnt dead and why she is finally in a balanced state. in fact every support is in the most balanced state it has ever been.
so she’s more of an off healer with good mobility, a buff, a rez, and still up there with the 3rd best healing… sounds useless to me
She has some of the best mobility/survivbility and has the most consistent healing.
Have you EVER healed 30000 HP in 10 minutes as Mercy? Average Mercy gets over 11k HP healed in 10 minutes.
The majority of non mercy player don’t want another year of moth meta and boosted gm/ t500 as it already has gotten over the seasons since S5. Gm back then != gm right now. Gm right now is basically master.
Also, if mercy would be a better option than she is now, goats would be probably even stronger.
Not even Mercy players want her OP again, nobody wants that. And Moira will always be better for goats, because she can heal more allies at the same time.
youre missing the point. it was just math. of course no mercy will heal 30,000 hp in 10 min. i was pointing out the consistency. even if mercy is not healing for 50% of the match she is putting out 15,000 hp. No ana is going to shoot 500 shots in a match, more like 320 shots (approx 14,600 hp)
Plus you are completely ignoring the survivability and the fact that the higher healing output heroes are less mobility. Ana has high healing output, must land her shots, and has NO mobility.
Mercy is literally meant to heal more than Moira. And hold on a second, can’t Moira also damage? That makes her value go up x100 compared to Mercy, whose purpose is healing. I’m talking averages here, Moira is consistently getting higher numbers than Mercy. That means that her healing is the same or higher when she’s used on for comps Mercy used to be better for.
Explain to me how exactly that’s balanced.
it’s too soon we gotta see if the stats wont change.
that’s the logic behind her been op for so long, and brig being op and hog being up
Ana, I’m many ways, is flawed. Compared to all of the other healers, depending on the rank, she’s weak. But, your math also isn’t making any sense. Remember than Ana still does more than healing, and has 2 other abilities that can be used to affect the enemy.
Moira also has very high survivability. Actually, most of the healers have high survivability. The problem hero out of all of them is Ana, because she doesn’t have means to consistently heal themselves. But Anas are usually better off in the back lines, anyway. That’s why she has her sleep dart.
Exactly how long is long enough? It’s been a month.
no she is not
moira is a aoe healer, the more players that stand infront of her the more healing she does similiar to how zenyatta is a single target healer and lucio is a aoe healer
moira does damage = she is not healing which is balanced
while mercy heals 24/7 and she can damage boost heroes like mccree or hanzo which is a lot better than moira’s slow damage
i’d like to see you play moira on numbani with dive heroes and snipers, you won’t heal much at all compared to mercy
since brig is op since 6 months wait 5 other months
