Give bastion headshots

To many barriers in this game compared to all the viable tank buster, bastion is literally the bastion of tank busters but yet he get stomp by every other hero besides winston.

Giving him headshots will make him viable you can take away his tankiness because of how many shields he can hide behind

Recon have headshots :v
I think what Bastion lacks is a bit of mobility: Make him shift faster between forms in exchange of no auto reloading Sentry while in Recon form and reducing a bit his heal rate.
This way Bastion would be able to avoid many deaths and move around instead of sitting in one single point all the game. At the same time he would be possibly chase-killed (less healing) and wouldn’t have the cheap “reconfigure to reload”.

Bastion falls into the category of spam damage. Headshots don’t make sense for this type of damage, it would be like giving Junk and Pharah headshots.

NO PLEASE. I know you bastion players are on the same boat as us Mercy mains but please. Bastion is already effective with his dmg in sentry mode. You just need to take positions where 1 shot abilities won’t be applied easily to u (rein charge, hog hook etc etc)
In fact I think his centry and tank mode are fine. His recoon mode needs some working on as it sees no usage whatsoever

With a good team, Bastion can be overwhelming.

It’s finding that line that makes him useful.

I think that with the hitscan buff and incoming Healer changes, he has a good chance of seeing the light of day. Let’s wait those out.

Im saying take away bastion his armor and passive for more damage, he already have an orisa and rein to peel for him

No one wants to baby sit him. That is his core issue.

His spread is the problem it won’t matter if you give him more damage

He used to have 33% less spread and headshots and was still weak.

Good bastions dont need 24/7 babysitting,

Bastion can be useful on his own, if you want to build arround him good

He had headshots in turret config before, and he was even more oppressive than he is now, so no.

If you had a Rein/Bastion combo in a corner, you weren’t going to win, period. Seriously, the only way to kill them was to peek with Symmetra and lob orbs at them, and hope they were too stupid to move.

That isn’t even an option anymore, so most definitely no.

How about instead reduce his spread? He will still need a rework either way.

Bastion turret mode used to have headshots and it was overwhelmingly overpowered in the past. They took the criticals away just so people had a fighting chance to stop him

What do you mean “Bastion mains are on the same boat as Mercy mains.”? Mercy has been one of the best heroes for almost a year while Bastion has suffered since release.

They took headshots away because they added Ironclad, not because he was killing people fast. Yeah, he could kill pretty fast, but that’s not really the reason they took it away. It might have had a small part in it, but Ironclad is the main reason…

If you think adding headshots would be too OP, then how about this:

  • Configuration Sentry
    • Damage reduced to 12 (Currently 15)
    • Headshots added
    • Deals 25% bonus damage to barriers
    • Bloom added to weapon
      • Starts at 1.25° spread, starts bloom after 0.3 seconds of continuous fire
      • Maxes out at 2° spread after an aditional 0.3 seconds of continuous fire
    • Ammo reduced to 250

He does less damage to squishies, but keeps the same DPS against barriers. He has potential for higher DPS than currently, but only with >25% headshot accuracy. The spread is almost the same as Hammond’s, but it starts getting inaccurate faster (Hammond stays at 1.25° for 0.5 seconds).

Bastion's real damage output (kinda) Here’s some DPS averages for Bastion. This is after his falloff buff. The tests were performed on a stationary training bot, but most all squishy targets will be much smaller and will be moving, so his actual DPS in game will be significantly lower. His damage is still pretty terrible, especially for an immobile character.

2.6 seconds @ 50m doesn’t seem terrible to me and at that range, he’s not gonna have much trouble tracking targets.
