Game freeze upon "Entering Game" - COMP!

Problem: when queuing up for comp, just as the game finds a match and everyone joins the game, it shows “Entering Game” banner for me on screen, but freezes at this point. Game does not load and I can not ESCAPE out, or do anything

Only way to close the game is ALT-F4
I am playing comp and keep losing points and getting banned because of this!
It is really frustrating.

Occurrence: every 8-10 games
Period: Only since the new season never had this before

Things done to fix but without success:
1. reinstalled game
2. reinstalled battlenet
3. installed game on new harddrive
4. have no antivirus installed
5. internet is stable, no drops in connection (checked telemetry)

The fact I can reload the game, wait out the ban and play oka for a few games, proves that this is a game issue - not a client problem.

Using battlenet for othergames like COD without any issues.
Friends of mine on Discord have also experienced this same issue.

PC SPECS:
GPU: Nvidia RTX 3080TI
GPU driver version: 551.52
ROG Strix B550-F-Gaming
AMD Ryzen 7 5800x

NOTE: There are several people across the forums with the same problem

1. Game locking up whenever loading into Shambali Monastery (this person seemed to think it could be MAP RELATED! I have not checked if it happens on specific maps only, will examine)
2. Can't join the game/freezing
3. Stuck on map loading screen, game freezing

Just wanted to add my two cents; the things that you’ve tried and I’ve also tried without much luck.

The fact there are 100’s of people experiencing this bug without anyone willing to try and investigate in further is mind boggling. I have seen prominent streamers get banned from games for this exact issue and we’re meant to all just shrug our shoulders and accept it?

The real strange thing about this issue is that after the ban, we can then suddenly play again without an issue; well at least until the next time.

This still occurs, is anyone from OW actually active on these forums to help share insights to this long-last problem?

This bug is a major problem. It has happened to me several times. The last time it happened to me I was able to re-join the game somehow. But it just happened again and now I’ve been suspended for 8hrs.

I noticed that it always happens when I’m queued up and the wait time is less than a minute, and when i try to enter a custom game or the practice range while waiting, if it enters me into a game simultaneously, it will sometimes freeze on the ‘entering game’ screen.
