No because that would eliminate the use of res outside of Valkyrie… the reason they removed it from Valk was because we kept using Valk exclusively for Resurrect… which rendered the ultimate to still be focused on Res and not its features of Damage Boost, Unlimited Ammo shooting or Healing.
For now because not enough time has passed yet to deem if the changes are a success or a failure.
As of today on a Monthly 30 day pickrate for overall tiers for competitive… Mercy is at 7.23%
Mercy at her peak 5 weeks ago with 2.4/3.0 was at 14.5~14.8%
thats is now over 7% drop… with 5% of them being support fills and 2% of them being former Mercy players who have now converted over to Moira…
Ana and Lucio have suffered drops but Ana and Zen are still within the top 10 and Lucio is lucky enough to just barely scrap back into 10th place…
With Brigitte release… we could be seeing even less Mercy’s… like Mercy works but I still refuse to play her.
Which is all we are asking for on Mercy. The problem was SOME, not even a majority, Mercy players played “Hide and Rez” where they let their team die so they could get an SR boost, THAT was the main excuse that they gave out. They finally fixed but AFTER the Rework, so that is taken care of. The other problems, which she always had, was “No counter once she presses “Q””. HOWEVER, a LOT of Heroes have that:
Doomfist, where the F— did he go? Oh well, wait till he pops back up and take him out.
Zenyatta- wait till it cools down, then kill him and the other team.
Reaper Ulting in the middle of your team- yeah Mercy not being too close to the team was the counter for THAT. Then they took that away from us…
There were or ARE counters to a lot of these, wait till after to kill the team off. Ult Conservation, but many DPS and Pro Players don’t want to, so here we are…
Like his saying there would be no Deathmatch in Overwatch?
Yeah, there may be no Revert, but there might be more work towards a more Balanced version. A nice Balanced place, which happened to be Mercy 1.0 to start with, could grow from there. Mercy 1.0 only needed tweaks to begin with, to prevent SR gain and “Hide and Rez”. Humm, we have to “Hide TO Rez” now, so maybe Rework IS a failure and they don’t want to admit it.
The only truth is that the “revert” sail has gone, you guys have to focus on how to improve Mercy from where she’s now. They changed her old ult for a lot of reasons and going back won’t solve those problems.
Going back solves 90% of current Mercys problems. It will piss off players who were just bad but, I don’t particularly care if they refuse to learn how to counterplay.
I mean I’ll be honest I’ve never been a Mercy main, but back when mass Rez was a thing I never saw it as uncounterable, I just got outplayed if Mercy managed to get a HUGE rez off against my team. Because of that, the next fight I was more careful.
The complaints seem to stem from a handful of people who throw every ult they have into one team fight, mercy rezzes the team because they thought with their Q button and not they’re brains, and then they got mad because they’re POTG got erased by the one ability that can undo something.
Solver only her problems but not the problems the team adressed as a whole on the rework. Blizzard decided (and was supported for a lot of players, pros included) that mass rez is bad for the game and had to go. I know you loved it, but it wasn’t healthy for the game. It’s been so many months now and you guys still don’t get it. You can’t continuously cry about it or make suggestions to improve her experience in this new direction.
Well, it removed the mass rez problem they were addressing and, right now, her pickrate is on par with what is expected. So, I guess it worked. How is this something that “didn’t work”?
You’re twisting the meanings just to try to prove your point, that’s dishonesty.
You know very well that old “hide & rez” is a thousand times different than being protected/around a corner while using an ability with ONE SECOND animation.
It is no longer mercy, as we know it from the beginning of the game, I would like to see you if your main is completely distorted.
In ultimate it is boring. It is no longer mercy
Pros probably didn’t care what Mass res did. It had little to no effect on their meta the time.
The whole unhealthy argument is just stupid. A small group of players we’re certainly vocal that they didn’t like but, just as many didn’t care. But, the claims it was unhealthy all boil down to people being unwilling to counter play properly.
This new Mercy cannot be improved without a rework. Something I don’t want them wasting more time on. A revert is quicker and easier to get started. Mercy was fine prior to her rework and didn’t need to be here. Her balance has gone full circle she is now just as balanced as her pre-rework state but, without the fun attached.
No hero is the same from the beggining of the game, except Tracer.
Mercy is absolutely the same 90% of the time, only her ult is different. If you played her before and thought she was boring except when you ulted, then you didn’t liked Mercy in the first place, you liked only her ult.
You did not understand anything, I’m sorry. Try to imagine your main with a different, more boring ults. Try to be honest for once.
I like mercy even now, but as I wrote, it’s not fun in the ultimate. It’s not her anymore. Would you like it if your main puts you your main skill while remaining stuck?
