Done playing until this Role Lock garbage ends

Blizzard: finally creates a competitive mode that adequately reflects roles, takes the stress out of having to stretch people onto roles they are unfamiliar with, and ends the nonsense of multi-dps comps.

People: still complain.

If you have a problem with role queue, then you can quit playing the game. You obviously belong in a different game, you don’t need Overwatch, Overwatch doesn’t need you, and we as a playerbase who are satisfied with role queue and role lock don’t need you.

I pretty much dont agree with any of the statements in the quoteblock above, other than I can quit the game. Yeah, and any of us can, but I wont be; and no, it isnt obvious that I (or we) belong elsewhere in a game that was marketed from the initial release as one where every player was free to select any character and switch at any time

I and many others prefer Freedom over Forced, and this is a discussion board where such things can be, well, discussed

I won’t play if they pull it back. So where does that leave it?

2-2-2 is here to stay and it’s a good addition to the game. It doesn’t solve every problem, but it’s a step in the right direction.

The problem is that, until now, the game was never about a rigid 2-2-2. Not more than a couple of months ago, goats (3-0-3) was viable. Now that team comp is impossible to play. They’ve removed a significant amount of flexibility and strategy from the game, all because Player A wants to control what Player B does.

you need to understand that in lower ranks role que is just a troll manifesto.The fact that he is silver doesnt make you any special, you just play 10 housr a week to keep your rank. Stop judging ppl by their SR and be a little bit constructive on your posts.

Que role for lower ranks is just garbage.i cant carry my self to climb up as i used to, now am forced to lose. this guy and any guy has their right to post their opinion.
Role que is good when your teammates have a decent knowledge of the mechanics, and the game it self

Yes it is. People are for the most part happy with it, and there are more praise threads than there are moaning threads. And Blizzard isn’t prone to going back on something this late in the release of it.

Compare to what we had, it is a good change. You get a lot more close fights and a whole better teamplay than with the old system.

What do you do when you have 2 people who are both bad at a position? In the past, maybe two DPS not doing so well, we’d try 3 DPS and sometimes that would work

Eh? This was always a problem in what I’m glad now referred as OW classic. A 3rd or 4th dps didn’t help much as you are claiming.

You can easily flip your little scenario and say wtf am I suppose to do as a single tank with a single healer against a Bastion with 4 dps running around like chickens with their heads cut off?

No they didn’t because Comps like 3-3 chokes out all the possible competition and comps like 1-4-1 chokes out a lot of tanks/heros.

If you haven’t been watching the numbers and watching streams the games that are being played are extremely diverse. Almost all tanks and supports are getting played and used in effective ways.

I have never felt more free to pick whatever support or tank I wished. Even some dps like Symm who require tanks and supports to make her function properly benefited from this.

If 80% of your player base don’t like something, it says something about that thing.

Diamond and up is 15% of the player base. If the game becomes frustrating for the low ranked players, it will become a ghost town very quickly.

If you dont wish to acknowlege that profitability is the single greatest concern for a for-profit business, thats entirely your perogative to do so
